seagull spacewalker engine
Would a .48 surpass be enough to fly this model? I was planning on putting my old surpass in my spacewalker (just received it). I have an Irvine 53 i could use, but I want to put it in a profile I am building(besides, I would have to buy a pitts to use it in the spacewalker). Use the surpass or no?

Caught between a rock and a hard place there Pilotsmoe. I think the surpass is too small and the Irvine 53 is deffo too big, don't get me wrong the Irvine will fit but the spacewalker needs to be flown scale and you will be using 1/4 throttle to achieve this and thats a waste for such a good strong engine.

Pilotsmoe,
I had a Seagull Spacewalker with a 40 LA on it. It flew very scale, but you had to use a shallow climb and it didn't climb very well with that setup. Then I put a Magnum 46 on it and it was alot better. I gave it to a friend and I flew it for him with a OS 46 AX on it, that was a little too powerful as far as scale goes, so I would say, OS 46 LA or the Magnum 46 and you will love it. It is a nice flying airplane, be sure to put loctite on the landing gear bolts, my LH gear fell off during flight.

I agree, the .48 might not be enough. I flew mine for the first time yesterday, I have a super tiger GS45 on it and it flew fine, definitely not overpowred though. The plane flies very nicely, take offs were fine, it is not a floater on landing. If you slow down too much you will run out of elevator! Great plane for the money.

I first put a TT 46 Pro and it flew it but not with any authority. Was surprised at what a couple of cubic inches did. Tried it with the Irvine 53 and man, what a difference. The Irvine is still on it and am well pleased with it. I used a muffler from an old Magnum engine and it fit. The original muffler had the silver insert piece which made it longer and the Magnum was short and fit.
