It looks good, the rudder is correct , the elevator is not but hey its fun scale . I cant tell from the pics if the ball-links are worth trying or just go to century jet gear right from the start .
The cowl looks nice and appears that the teeth are pre-installed , they also did a nice job with the airlerons keeping them in semi scale size . If one chooses flaps would probably be an easy installation but really not needed based on proposed weight .
Wheels - prefer circular moon hub on outside like most P40ties use and this is an easy mod .
I will definitly buy one

RE: Hanger 9 P-40 Warhawk 60
I talked to horizon hobbies today and they are using an upgraded version of the corsairs rotating retracts. they have made the wire a little stiffer and changed the loop style ball link caps to full cup style caps this should help out allot. they are sending me a set of the new retracts for my corsair free of charge. I guess they are tired of people calling and complaining about the original junk retracts on the corsair. I will install them then post back and let everyone know how the hold up. heres hopping I do not have to buy a third wing and cowl.

the ys 140 will fit providing ihe cowl is the same size as the tf p40 I have one in mine it is a little over kill but it does swing my 18 inch 3 blade to scale speeds.

WOW the p-40 is back good to see it I hope my saito .82 will have enough to put her in the air. The p-40 wasn't the best wwII plane but it was a great looker. I also agree with some of the other post we need a short fat little HELLCAT H9 get to it.

RE: Hanger 9 P-40 Warhawk 60
Hi Warbird lovers,
I have the H9 Corsair and love the airplane. I reinforced the firewall, and use an OS 1.08 with a 3 -blade Graupner. It is NOT too fast, just a lot of reserve for fun stuff.
I stripped off most of the covering ,prefering the two-tone blue with gray underneath. If anyone is worried about removing the stock decals to customize their Corsair too, don't sweat it.Mine came off with my fingers,as if they were held on by static electricity only.
I've been building and flying a long time, and have come to really appreciate ARFS, but they've all got some warts.
I just converted mine to fixed gear, used the parts Top-Flite sells for the Gold Edition .60 Corsair fixed gear option. Almost all ARF's have flimsy horizontal stabs, and so do H9 planes. Reinforce the stab or lose it.
H9 Corsair retracts are junk ,and even the "improved " ball joints don't come close to doing the job , not at all.
I love good retracts, but most are crap. Robarts .60 size rotating retracts are pathetic, not to say that their larger scale units that directly accept Oleos aren't very nice, they are.
I've never seen oleo struts that bolt to wire that weren't a real pain.
Spring Air makes the best gear I've ever used,by far ,and they don't make rotating ones. I sure wish they did ! The Japanese mechanicals, like Supra or MK are pretty good, but are really more for .40 size planes.
Nice reading all your comments ! Doug

After a closer look , I am somewhat dispappointed at this P40 , I know its an ARF but the cocoa brown seems to dark , the rear windows seem off , and the cowl also seems weird .
ESpecially the bottom .
I am going to wait this one out until I can see it first hand in the shop and also compare it to the CMP P40 scheduled for early March . On the positive side based on the published weight it should fly very well.

RE: Hanger 9 P-40 Warhawk 60
My duh, I covered it and I did use white, not gray ! I agree that Corsairs should have retracts. Maybe I should have looked at the CJM retracts. It's just that a few years ago I bought a pair of theirs with the functioning oleos. On the maiden flight, before any landing ever took place and before I even retracted them in the air for the frst time,in a .60 Gold Edition Mustang, the right oleo fell out of the gear, hanging by only the scissors link. Of course the landing was ugly. I sent them in,two months go by,no reply. I called them, they apologized and 3 weeks later I got them back. Hmmmm. Plus their air actuation valve was really cheap looking , I wound up using a Robart valve.
The Sierra retracts look awesome, but I don't know about 250.00 for a set of retracts.
Do any of you have experience with the CJM rotating retracts ? Thanks, Doug

By the way, I have over 250 flights on my Kyosho Corsair, also equipped with CJM rotating retracts from the get go. On one roll out after landing, I thought one of the oleos got bent after impacting a mole hill, but it didn't:

Back to the original post. Are you sure you saw this at Hobby People and not Hobby America? Hobby People does not stock any skus distributed by Horizon. I asked at my local store and they knew nothing about it.

danielson555, The P-40 is made by Hanger 9 and can be found (when it is released) at any dealer that caries Hanger 9 aircraft. A few on the big places on the net that carry Hanger 9 are; [link=http://www.hobbyhorse.com/hanger_kits.shtml]Hobby Horse[/link] and [link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Shop/ByCategory/Product/Default.aspx?ProdID=HAN2850]Horizon Hobby[/link].

Hello,
I'd like to buy this plane and convert it from glow to electric. Has someone done it and could share the specs (which motor, Li-poly Battery, etc.)
Thanks!!!
Luke

RE: Hanger 9 P-40 Warhawk 60
well, I ordered one today also, but it will take 2 to 3 weeks to cross the pond.
I will convert it as I did with my 2 other H9 planes:
axi 4130/16 6S2P Irate 2200 and 15*10
