RE: jerrys big boy by morris hobbies
Randy,
Got the spoiler back on it's legs just now. Dad had his new gear legs from his Big Boy he's flying now cause when we built it we used his old gear because they allready had the wheels and everything on. Worked out pretty good. The bolt holes lined up PERFECTLY width wise across the fuse but not length wise. So I only had to drill two holes. I'd rather be lucky than good any day! Going to reinforce the wing bolt area and it shold be good to go.
For everybody else, I had to make my own gear for my Spoiler and they ended up too tall and were too thin (1/8" stock instead of 1/4") They were flemsy which was pretty funny because they soaked up landings pretty good, plus I put 4" Dubro pnumatic tires on it so it was EASY to land without any bounce!! And being so tall alowed me to do some really great wheel landings. But yesterday the wind got me at the last second and I really banged one in. One tire fell in a hole and it twisted the gear leg pretty bad. Now I've got BB gear on a Spoiler. WOO HOO!
Less than five minutes later, the gear came completely off of the other guys Ultra Stick 60. Yeaterday was a bad day for landing gear!

I've never seen one fly.........It looks like an Ultra Stik to me....I don't think it would perform like the Spoiler, not enough side area to the fuselage.

RE: jerrys big boy by morris hobbies
We had a pretty good week-end also. I worked all week on getting the gas engines running for better on both the H9 and the one that I scratch built. Flew the H9 Sat. and it ran better than it ever has, flew the 40% scratch built Sunday kept it high due to it dying the last 3 flights and it ran and flew great. Came in for a landing and just like RR's extra did a couple weeks ago it decided to shed its landing gear. Not to bad but the wheel pants did knock holes in both wings. I got the gear back in last night, now just need to recover bottom of fuse and replace the fuel tank, then start on wings. I wish that the yellodog would quit doing that spiral thing with his new plane it makes me dizzy to watch it. I don't know what happened to wild willy he was supposed to be there Sunday but he was a no show.

Be kind of nice for the mfg. to get a "pre-release waiting list" going. I'd get on it for sure! Joe

We will be offering a "Pre-Order" and will announce it in this thread once we are ready. It should only be a few months, once the final version is approved and the production version is being manufactured. I am anxious myself.....I have a spoiler that Jerry built and can't put skin on it until production begins.[]
Thanks, Guys and Gals!

Bubba,
I had planned on being in Benton Sunday but the auto trans that I rebuilt in my son's Trans Am was not cooperating. As a result I had to pull it back out Sunday and tear it down. Found the problem, (dumb butt me put a one way clutch in backwards), and will put it back in the car tonight.
The spoiler was ready to fly and cried everytime I walked past it Sunday.......or was it me squalling... Anyway supposed to be pretty next Saturday and I,m gonna fly somewhere. Paducah or Benton I,m not sure. Probably Benton.

I guess are only choice for ARF stick type planes with large control surfaces is the Wildstik line, the Spoiler is too many months away for a impatient guy like me[]

I run the Xoar 16x6 laminated on my 120ax and on the TT120, great prop with plenty of power for pullout. Jerry runs a 17x6 Xoar on his 120ax and some of the new Vess sport props both pull his spoiler around great I think that it weight around 8lb 6 oz. I have been running the TT120 with a Xoar 16x6 on a 9lb spoiler with power to spare.

Anyone here using a pump on their motor? I had a bunch of trouble with the ST 2300 with a Slimline muffler. There wasn't enough fuel pressure. I plugged one port of the muffler and it helped but didn't totally fix the problem. I'm going to try a Perry pump with the same motor and muffler and put the ST back on my Balso Nova. I took all my BCMA 26's and put them on E-Bay. They had to be relisted so the will be on there tonight.

i have used the perry pumps on a few OS160's before with great results. it will take a little time to get it all set but then it will be bullit proof. fuel pressure and carb setting will stay the same from full tank to empty.

Ok, I have some good motors setting around. This ST came off the Balsa Nove and I'm in the process of putting it back on right now. The pump came yesterday.
I'm sure I'll have more questions. Thanks.
