Phenolic wing tube for Patty Wagstaff
My girlfriend just purchased what must be a first run Patty Wagstaff from GP. It has a cardboard tube for the wing tube that is in bad shape. Can I buy the figerglass tube for it and where?

the cardboard tube is integral to the wings and fuse and you wont be able to replace just the tubes. I'm not sure what bad shape means but you probably would do best to speak to the great planes people on the phone about it.

I will try my best to get a hold of GP but maybe someone has a crashed plane they would sell me tube out of. I would take either cardboard or fiberglass. Attached is a pic I took off of here of cardboard tube.

PBG sells what you want. Typically they sell the CF wing tube
and the fiberglass shuck (the piece you want). Know that they
do sell the tube alone but don't know about the shuck. Email
either Mike or Sheila at [email protected]
They are in New Zealand but you get their stuff in a week and
shipping is around ten bucks. They have some dealers in the
states but they have limited inventory so I have always gone
direct.
You do face a major piece of surgury to get it in the plane.

The one in the picture is not ours. I took it off the PW thread here. Ours is actually missing the center between the two supports and one end is broke loose.

OK. You know, I bet if you have some fiberglass and epoxy you could make a new sleeve yourself, just use the aluminum wing tube and cover it with wax paper and go at it.
