What airplanes would you like to see produced as ARF's??????
Scale or non-scale.

As for me I would like to see more .60 size models.

Lets here what you want and maybe someone will get the message and produce some of them.

Default Goodyear air racers?

Small air racers like the Great Planes Shoestring. Something just after WWII. And have enough room in it to mount a 4-stroke. They have the right sound in a scale plane of that era.

Without a doubt it would have to be a famous Reno Racer... RARE BEAR, a highly modified F8F Grumman Bearcat. Why do all these ARF manufacturers insist on cranking out P-51 after P51? Don't get me wrong I love a good stang (I own 4 right now), but don't they realize there is a huge hungry market for sleek semi-scale piston birds? ANYTHING BUT A MUSTANG!!!

Default Fav ARF

I would love for GP to build a RV-4 Arf kit. I think this plane would be flown alot more if it was an ARF. It has optional Flaps and very scale like.

Default Jets

I miss my GP Patriot ARF. I would also like to see something besides areobats being produced. Manufacturers are starting to do it, but most of what you see are only the most popular(?) models.

I agree, you get tired of so many Mustangs, but they do fly well and everyone likes them, so they get made. Corsairs, pretty much the same. As far as warbirds, I'd like to see a good size B-25 and B-17 come out. A really nice Sopwith Camel to oppose my Fokker DR1 would be cool.

A real ducted fan with good design and some real performance would be nice. I'd like it under $500, as long as I'm dreaming. Note I asked for real performance, which right now few ducted fans do, mostly turbines. The electrics are easy to get and make, but the performance, even with lots of mods, is fairly pathetic. I'd also like more than 3 minute flights.... By the time you get an electric fan close to the perfomance of good glow-powered models, you've exceeded the cost of said glow model, and for sure the weight... Oh well..

I'd like to see more Golden Age craft, like Waco biplanes in a .60-1.20 size, also.

That's enough for now.

Cool suggestion about the Howard DGA. I have a Howard DGA6 Mister Mulligan but it's a 1/3 scale. It would be cool to get this plane in a 60 size.. Alot less trouble for me to transport it. The darn fuselage is like a bathtub.. hehe

I agree with all of you, I would really like to see the reno air racers also. I think some fun races with these types of models with say YS 91's or other 4 cycle engines would be great and sound cool too.

I would also like to see more .60 size models, 40's are great but a little small and large scale is just to expensive for me but the .60 size would be great.

I have noticed a small trend in that direction such as he H9 P-51 and the GP you-can-do-3d.

The Wacos would be great and maybe a nice 60-90 size stagger wing bipe would be just cool.

How about a *quality* .60-1.20 sized Spitfire? Big enough to see (and detail), but small enough to afford.

Default ARF's wanted

We have several Uproar 60's flying at our field. Every week I hear the lament that it is not available in an ARF format. Those who do not have the time nor inclanation to build have been left out in the cold from enjoying a great sport flyer.

I would like to have more 60size aerobatic arfs. Where the weight comes in right for about $250 bucks. where you don't have to go out and buy carbon fiber and fiberglass wing tubes, landing gear, etc.

The 60 size fits right in my price range. I would also like to see more 60size aerobatic KITS. I dont have time to build, but I know a good builder that is willing to build anything up to a 60size for me for a price. But when he gets done w/ it. Its perfect.

I do like the bigger 120 size arfs. But they cost more than I am willing to spend. And bigger than I want to go.

RICEC5 said it best...
...A true 11 pound 120 size ARF aerobat.... at $350 bucks. No more BS advertising and no more need to reinforcing firewalls and landing gear mounts...
This is the most interesting size ARF. Something capable of most everything, good wing loading numbers, transportable and REALLY flying at eleven pounds sounds perrrfect.

We already see the Patrick's, SIG's, World Models' and more that are fine ARFS, but don't fit the definition RICEC5 gave.

I have a .40-.60 size Howard DGA-15 kit (nib) by G-S Products from the 1970's that I recently acquired. It's the only kit of this plane I've ever seen, other than Don Smith's plans of a 1/4 scale version.

Default P-40

Would love to see a decent looking P-40. Either in an ARF or a ARC. The ones out there today just look like junk.
