Aviomodelli Cessna Cardinal (83") HELP
Gents,
I have a NIB kit of the Aviomodelli Cessna Cardinal (83" span) that is missing the plans and instructions. Unfortunately, the US importer/distributor of the Aviomodelli kits is "unable to provide a replacement set of instructions and plans", and the Italian manufacture is unresponsive to my requests for help.
I am looking for someone out there who has this kit who would be willing to make a copy of their plans and instructions for me, for which I will pay all associated copying and postage costs.
Many thanks in advance for your help.

Gents,
Many thanks for the help. I'll give Jim at RCM a call and see what he can do.
I have not had any luck finding a website (OEM site in Italy; US or UK distributors) with downloadable instructions or plans for this kit.
Regards,
Peter

That's a nice looking Cardinal!
Many thanks for the offer! I was able to contact Jim Pearson at RCM and he very kindly mailed me his copy of the planns & instructions from the kit he built/reviewed for the last issue of RCM.
Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to get building on my C-177 kit yet. I intend to convert mine into the RG version and model it after the full scale 1977 C-177RG that I own (picture attached).
Regards,
Peter

I did my part, gald you found what you needed. A strong 61 2 cycle will fly fine with retracts but 1.00 -1.25 4 cycle would be better and more reallistic. Be safe in that full scale, I got a few hours in a Cessna 160 and Cherokee.

Let us know were you find the retracts for the Cardinal. I've been looking for a set to fit a Cessna 337 I have. No one in the retract business has a set that I know of except for the larger 1/4 scale set that is for the Hosttelers plans. It's not a complicated retract sytem but not one the Robatrts, and Hobbicos want to build.

You are correct, there aren't any production retracts for Cessna singles available. I was planning on fabricating my own. The Cessna main gear are actually very simple once you figure out (or see the full scale) geometry of the gear leg and pivot trunion. It simply rotates through 180 degrees (up and down). I am planning on using a standard retract servo as the actuator for each gear leg and then rig up an up and down lock mechanism. I'll let y'all know when I get it done:-)

Sadly no progress to date. I am busy finishing up an electric conversion of the Guillows Cessna 172 Skyhawk and getting a Cermark Pitts S2B in the air. Once those two are done I need to finish up a TF Gold Edition Spitfire and then I will tackle the Cardinal. I'll let you know once I get started....

Man, I wasnt aware there was an ARF Cardinal out there, glad I found this! I fly a full scale '77 FG on pipeline patrol, and I love the way she flies. Very seriously considering purchasing an RG of my own in the next year or so. Yours is SHARP, by the way!

I could use some help on this same 83" cessna cardinal. I'm wonder what servos I need for this plane? Is there a suggestion or maybe a chart for size / weight and a recommended servo spec? I'm getting to that point in the build.
