I have already discussed the purchase of the Skymaster with Matt. I really like the looks. I was one of the many buyers of a Fusco 1/3 Berkut. Well, as any who have followed that story knows, that was a no-show. I did get a refund and Matt was always supportive to me as a buyer even when Fusco was, should I say, less than forthcoming.

I am eager to get my hands on the Skymaster. Matt, any other pics available?

Hey guys, if you are planning on going to the Hobby Visions show in Las Vegas, October 10-12, KMP and Matt from Utlimate R/C will have a booth with most of the KMP models on site for inspection. Although I have already ordered the Skymaster, this will be my first up close inspection!

You can visit the Hobby Visions web site for a discount ticket as well.

I just got back from the Hobby Visions show in Las Vegas. I had the opportunity to see and feel the Skymaster. Let me say it was even larger than it appears in the photo. Fiberglass booms, nice sheeted foam wings. Tons of room in the fuselage and the front cowl looks great. WIth the plane assembled, this is going to be a huge attention grabber at the field. This one will be a fixed gear model but Matt says Robart may be interested in making some retracts for it down the line. All in all, a real price competitive package![8D]

Just back from Vegas!!
That Cessna is gorgeous.
Mr Kondor plans some new planes to come shortly. I can hardly wait.
What did he say?? Hmmm, Nope not more Caps or Extras.. but
More warbirds...more twin warbirds.
I am sworn to secrecy... however Andrew did say Twin Warbirds.
Wahoo!! Sign me up B-25 P61?? I'm drooling now.

hal

These were the 2 mentioned. They would be about the same size as the P-38 now availible.
Timing?? Early next year?? No timeframe mentioned.

Well without revealing anything that you gave a blood oath not to, if someone were to come out with a B-23 (+2), when do you think we could expect it, hyptohetically speaking?

Mr. Kondor,
I saw the picture of your Fiberglass 40 size Super ChipMunk. The picture looks great but i am concerned about the quality. I bought a VMar because of the looks and you couldn't give me another one! Would the Magnim 61 four stroke be enough engine for this plane and do you have them in stock ready for shipment?

Thanks
Tom

Hi Tom:

Yes we do have them in stock and ready to ship. As far as the quality goes....This plane has an all glass fuse, wheel pants and cowel. The paint is glossy and the wood inside is mostly laser cut. I'll you be the judge of the quality when you recieve the plane. Just in case, we offer a 100% money back guarantee that if when you receive the kit it is not exactly what you expect, you can send it back to me for a full refund of the purchase price of the kit.

Any of the twin warbirds Kondor Models Products produces will sell the best if it is at least 80" That way the model will qualify for all Fly-In's/Events..IMAA and general Events..What do you all think...

Hello all,

I love these ARF warbirds. I have just completed my ESM (KMP in the US) Sea Fury and it flies beautifully. I'll try to attach some piccies. Engine is a Zenoah G26 spinning a Master Airscrew 16x8 at 8100rpm. Flies nicely at 1/3 throttle while full throttle gives "sparkling" vertical performance.

The new Hawker Hurricane looks great but I'd really like to see a 120 size Hawker Typhoon. Love those beasties.

SeaHawk,
Fabulous job on that Sea Fury. I'm curious about the G26 in it. Did you:
Have balance problems?
Change anything kit wise (beef-ier fire wall)?
Where did you get spinner? In kit?
It looks great??

Anyone have a clue as to the BRAND of covering used on this plane? I have had a Chipmunk for months now, that the wingtip had some minor damage on,( in shipping )and have asked everyone that has these kits, and everyone I could think of,that question. I would really like to finish it,but trying to get an answer on the covering is like pulling teeth.
I have tried to match it with Ultra-cote,Mono-kote,and some other stuff from my LHS,but nothing. If these planes ever need repair,is the whole plane going to have to be recovered to make it match?
I was interested in a few other planes from this manufacturer/distributor,but where I am from, summers over, and this plane is going to have to wait until next year now!
I am dissapointed in this plane!

Hello Hal,

Thanks for your comments. The balance point with the G26 and twin 600MAh battery packs was spot on 27% of chord at the wing joints. This turned out to be ideal for this model. To mount the engine I used through firewall type soft mounts that require 1/2" thick firewall. I used 1/4 ply to reinforce the firewall locally around the mount points. The only other differences were the addition of a torque rod between the elevator halves to reduce differential movement and the use of Robart pinned hinges.

The spinner was included in a 1995 package deal of stuff from a modeler recently returned from New Guinea. It was old then and he had forgotten where it had come from. Turned out to be just right for this model.

Sadly yesterday, on it's 5th flight, the Sea Fury was involved in a mid-air with an ESM (KMP) 120 sized P47. The P47's wing impacted the Sea Fury just forward of the fin. Unfortunately the P47's wing was severed and the model was lost. The Sea Fury had compression damage to the rear fuse, the fin was opened like a clam and the stern post and rudder torn off. After recovering control I flew a half a dozen circuits to regain my composure and with the encouragement and support of the P47 pilot a normal landing was made. I'll post some pics at a later time.

The damage is definitely repairable but I am going to try to source a replacement fuselage as my refinishing skills always seem to leave a lot to be desired.

Bye for now,

Col

Has anyone seen the KMP P-26 Peashooter up close? Will it take a Zenoah g-26?
Are the landing gear better than the GSP version? Thanks in advance!

Col,
I am so sorry for the mid-air. But it seems you have come through well.
I only know of sources up here (USA/Canada) for those fuses. I always use Andrew Kondor at www.kmp.ca I am so impressed with the Plane I might get one for myself. I will get it if the transaction for an FPE 24 goes through. Little lighter than Zenoah but I've had good luck with First Place Engines.
Keep us apprised of your progress.
Hal

I forgot to add, I ordered the Sea Fury today. Wahoo!!

I hadn't heard of First Place Engines. Had a look at their website, seems interesting. I wonder how prices here compare with Zenoah.

Prices are a bit more for the FPE guys. Only reason I'm going that way is to corner a used one that is missing a few parts I can get.

Should be just right for the KMP Sea Fury. Maybe you should ask Andrew to organise alternative decal sheets to suit RCAF and RAAF Sea Furys. That would be a good selling point.

The owner of the late lamented P47 of mid-air fame has just told me that he has ordered one of the new Hurricanes. Due in Aus at the end of Nov. Lucky bugger.

I am trying to fined out what the wings are made of on the KMP P-38 ARF.
Three different sources said completely different things. Also the KMP email dose not
seam to work.
