Default Kyosho ARF 40 Spitfire Retracts

Hello,

I am ordering a Kyosho 40 Spitfire, and was wondering what retracts I should order that would go in it. I don't want to spend a lot on them, so I would prefer mechanical retracts.

I was looking at some Great Plane, and some Hobbico ones, but I am not sure of which ones (part #) I need.

Thanks!!!

I snagged a set of these for my Kyosho Spit -

Also requires a special retract servo:

Cheers!

Great Planes .60 size mechanicals would also fit and work.

Hello
I recently bought a Kyosho Spitfire from a fellow club member who had it a number of years and such had lost all of the docs for the plane. I am trying to find any and all the info I can get such as the recommed thows and CG. It has a fixed gear on it , but he had the retracts and wheel tubs for it but again no docs. If some could please point me in the right direction.
Thanks Mikeg

Koyosho still has the CG and control throws on their website.

I have a set a Great Planes 40 size mechanical retracts in mine, and they're holding up just fine, even with more than half my flying being off grass.

Do these retracts that you recommend from tower hobbies move outward towards wing tip or do they retract inward towards fuselage?
Thank you

If the model is retract ready, wouldn't that dictate which way the gear retracted i.e. inward or outward? The scale position of the gear is very narrow making ground handling qualities poor in a model of this size. The ME-109 has this same modeling dilemma. A Supermarine Spitfire just does not look "it" with a large spacing and gear doors on the wrong side of the gear legs. I would opt for fixed gear -- at least it would look closer to right most of the time. Opinionated me.
