No it's not on there yet. I emailed Sandy at DP and she (I think it's a she) said that the clipped wing version was in and the standard wing was about 8 weeks out, so I took a clipped wing. They come in three color schemes, white/red, white/blue and white yellow. I ordered the red

Is it priced the same as the standard wing, and what is the wingspan of the clipped model?

Any updates on this CWC? I am interested but need to know what engines might fit in that awesome cowl without butchering it. Pictures?

Joe. I have the OS160FT in mine and it fits perfectly. The only holes in the cowl are a small hole to access the needle valve, a hole for the exhaust pipe and a hole for air. I had problems with my motor and I'm waiting to get it back from service so I don't have flight report yet. Outstanding quality on this ARF.

What is the width of the cowl where the engine sits? Also what did the final weight end as. I am thinking of a small gasser, unsure though.

Vsnap, I'll have to get back to you on that info. I think installing a gasser would be nice but you would have to cut up the cowl to make it fit.

I've recently started work on my DP clipped wing and it is beautiful. I have the blue trim on mine. I'm still not sure of the engine for it and I hate to cut up the cowl. The OS 160 twin I don't think will be quite enough even though it seems that it's the engine people are using with the full length winged DP Cub. I would like a little more power to perfom some aerobatics, maybe the OS 240 twin but then it might look like a J3 after cutting up the cowl. Overall the construction is great. I did have to dig a little to install the huge tail surface hinges and also had to do some paint scraping to fit together the gear. I also replaced the very unscale tail gear and foam main gear. Other than that it is a big beautiful, very well built airplane.

jaycam, the 160 will be plenty of power for it. I had this engine in a 20 lb Stinson and it flew well. It will take about an hour of run time before the motor reaches it's full potential. To me the 240 is way more than you need.

But I have a nice flat Tartan Twin on gas, it fits in mighty small spaces...Just needs the width to keep the heads tucked neatly away.

The web site stated a weight up to 18lbs. Lets hear what the actual weights are with what equipment. This looks good for winter purchase if some things sell off. I will look at the arc though. I wouldn't mind doing a mini artical with it if the dimensions are right.

vsnap, I measured my cowl, it's 8.5" across. I think my CW Cub is about 14lbs. You'd have to load it with rocks to get to 18lbs.

arrgh that will be close, I will have to measure the heads and maybe I can get away with just some bubbles. Thanks, and I thought that advertised weight was quite high even for the high end.

I'd like to gas this plane as well but only if it will still look nice. I'd try a 3W 24 but not sure how to mount it.

I think your only option would be inverted, the cowl tapers to the sides. I have feeling you will have to cut up quite a bit of the cowl to mount that motor.

Some pics of the cowl would be great. I measured the Twin I have and the heads most certainly will fit with small cowl bumps the plugs would hide also. Hanging two mufflers underneath may cause a problem though.
Must sell the plane it's in now before I can think about another though. I will be watching to see how people are setting theirs up.
