He's a very committed modeller.
Been at it for 30 years.
He has inspired me and taught me everything I know.
He works at the shop but doesn't own it, and when it is quiet he heads to the back and builds my plane for free and for fun.
That is true passion!
Excellent pilot as well with a house full of customised aircraft.
He moved the cock pit forward for a more scale look, sharpened the wing tips, found a more scale canopy and moved the tail wheel to a scale position.
Also the elevator and aileron servo's he moved to the interior of the plane and added large carbon fibre tubes as push rods.
My favourite touch is the cooling ducts or as he calls them "nostrils".
I'm really just a spectator here, every week I go check out the progress and learn something new about the real P 47 and then take pictures.
Been at it for 30 years.

Anyone have a link for the sullivan fuel tank that people are using to get it lower than the carb? Im going to be using the Saito 100.

Do yourself a favor: discard the original retracts and put something more rigid.
The wire struts used are just too weak to handle this plane.

Dasintex, if you see this, that Faux Cockpit Floor is just what I've been looking for. I sure would appreciate downloading the file if you can provide a link. What a great idea for adding quick detail in a sport scale warbird.

I have one NIB i have seen videos and eard stories the tail section has weak areas that could become a problem in high G moves if anyone has a fix or experienced this let me know.

Sad News today;
Lost my H9 60 Size P-47; had 3 great flights today and on the 4th flight the engine quit over the worst part of our flying field, couldn't clear the trees. The fuselage was destroyed except the canopy; amazing, the wing is perfect. If anyone needs a wing complete with Robarts Pnuematic Retracts, Oleo Struts, Scale Wheels/Tires, Working Gear Doors, etc; Let me know, make me an offer, before I part it out, they don't make this plane anymore, maybe someone has some use for the wing, I'll let it go cheap. Attached are a few pictures of the landing Gear and Doors, taken in better times!

I'm new to this forum and just got my P47 from a guy in town her where I live. I have never seen one of these babies fly but after reading the forum over the last couple of days I see its a great plane. The only engine I had to put in mine was a ST90 with a 14x7 apc. First flight was good and bad. This thing flew like a scalded ape... very fast, loved it! The only problem I had almost destroyed the plane...elevator flutter coming out of a split-S, full power, everything trimmed out, I hear the loud buzz and I pull the power, buzzing stops, made a couple of laps at half power and the engine dies(pressure line broke). So after all the drama and a dead stick landing, I'm back in my shop, nothing broken thankfully but what a thrill on my first flight. I'm hooked on this bird for a while.
I enclosed some picks of the elevator and stab before I wacked them off the plane to rebuild. I'm needing any advice, the stab broke on both stabs in the same place on both sides and the gap was the same on the elevator between the leading edge of the elevator and the trailing edge of the stab on both sides. I thought this might be the reason for the flutter until I saw that the control horn had the back screw pulled out or stripped out from the base it screws in to on the opposite side of the elevator. Any thoughts??
Something else to note was that the guy who assembled this glued the stab in with an inch difference between the two sides of the stab.... in other words its not level so I'm pulling it out to rebuild it. Should I go back with the same flat stab and elevator? I'm wondering if the TF P47 stabs, elevator and rudder be the same size, span, ect. While I'm in there I'm just gonna gut and rebuild.

Here's mine...stripped the original looks, now it's "B5", of 1şGAvCa (brasilian first fighter group). in Italy, WW2.
