I have a ton of flights on mine and the landing gear is holding up with no issues. Great fun flyer that really performs no different than a 60 sized stick.

I'm glad to hear the landing gear is holding up. I received my parts yesterday and I'll finish my Stick soon. I have to mount the G-26 next. I have a chance to pickup a G-38, I may use it.
Should I use a PCM receiver with a gasoline engine??

If you can't make it fly without problems using an FM receiver, it isn't safe to fly with any receiver.

Ed, did they have airplanes back in the fifties, or are you just pulling our leg.

I've had several planes with gas engines, but never started any. Can the Zen G-26 be flip started???? I hate to pay $50 for a spring.

Do you guys think a Cheetah 42 CC would be too much for this plane? I have one that flies a 16 lb PT 19 right now, and am looking to go in a different direction. The engine is by no means a hot rod--not like a brison or anything. I just don't want to tear the plane apart, and I don't want to have to add a bunch of dead weight in the tail. The motor turns a 20 X 8 zinger very nicely. Would this combo work? I wouldn't have to buy another engine....

If you are talking to me - I am serious. If the model is too noisy to fly with an FM receiver, masking those problems with PCM is unsafe. Who am I? Just a trained RF electronics technician, that's all. I'm not the brightest bulb in the pack, but I am sure of what I speak in this regard.

Fortunately, virtually any gas set up can be made to fly with FM receivers. After all is well, switch to PCM and enjoy the benefits. That is what I do.

I always envision a prosecutor asking the defendant in a death by model case if they took every precaution to ensure the safe operation of their model. Then the modeler explains that he/she was very safe. After all, didn't they switch from a non functioning FM receiver to a PCM receiver that masked all of the problems? Gavel comes down and the judge says, "Case closed. The defendant is guilty of negligent homicide." If there is such a critter.

I'm not trying to throw a bucket of cold water on everyone's fun. But some approaches to problem solving in this hobby are just plain idiotic. This is one of them.

I do not know of a spring starter that will work on a G23 or G26. The engine isn't built right to accomodate one.

Hand starting a G23, new pointless ignition system, is not an easy task. I can't imagine why a G26 would be any easier to hand start. An electric starter makes quick work of both engines.

Strap a 7 AH lead calcium 12 volt battery to the bottom of your Sullivan standard starter and start Zenoahs all day long on a single charge. BTDT.

I don't know anything about the G23 ignition. "BUT" I do know both my G26s start very easy by hand. They start very easy too with an electric starter. Brian

I was on here looking for a spring starter and didn't find one. I assumed they didn't make or need one. I have several starters and one is an old Dyantron that needs a new cord.
I started building model around 1955 and got into RC in 1972.
I will install my radio system and switch behind the wing if possible.

I noticed that Dick and Doug mounted both their engines upside down, is there a reason for doing it that way. I haven't had time to mount my G-26 yet. I'm new to gasoline engine, is there a problem with getting a shock from the plug wire?

I just finished my Giant Big Stick this weekeend. She came out at 13lbs 5 oz dry using a Mac 38cc conversion engine that swings a Dynaflight 18x6 prop at 8400 RPM. I did install the flaps and I am looking forward to see how this plane flys using them. This is my first plane with flaps. The CG came out right on at 5 7/8 inchs from the leading edge. I'll start flying here and move it back a little at a time if I don't like the way she flys. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

The Mac conversion came out to 4lbs 5 oz. I will be converting it to electronic ingnition as soon as I have the funds. I am hoping to cut the weight down to under 13 lbs.

See if you can find you some deals in a few good Futaba 9402's. I like mine in this plane. I'v tried this plane with a G-23 but have a new Evo 35 cc that is just itching to jump up on it. Man these things are fun. IMAA aka old farts. Come on---give us a break. ha. ha. Hooker53

I used S9202 on aireron and HS645MG on flaps and tail.
I will almost land itself without flaps. With flaps you have enough time to eat a sandwich while on final.
Also I covered the bottom of the wing between the fuse and cross with checkerboard.
Don't know why they made the wing top and bottom identical.
And, Yes, I am anal. Uncowled engines ortta be upright !

I've never seen or used a kill switch for a gas engine. How do you set it up, do you use a servo just for it, pictures welcomed.

I have the engine mounted and will be installing the radio sometime this week.
