Default A $150 Acrobatic or scale ARF

Hi everyone,

I would like to know what ARF you would recommend that's under the $150 value and can go good with a Saito Fa-65 4 stroke...
It can either be acrobatic or scale...
Thanks for the input!

I gotta tell ya,,, I'm very happy with my Phoenix Giles G-202. Running a OS .46AX w/Pitts muffler right now and it screams. Thinking about sticking something bigger on it like a .61 2stroke or a .72 4 stroke. But for flat out sports flying it's got plenty. I took some extra steps during the build to thicken up places. Other than that it's stock. The Sukhoi SU-31 rocks too I've heard. And for the money you save ,,, you can buy some nitro to fly 'em with as well.

World model 232-46R

119 bucks, builds light, flies right. 5 lbs. with a 46AX on it. Has the detail printed into the covering, pretty sweet

the engine mounts at a 45° down angle or up if perfer

Check out The World Models ARFs... good quality products and great flyers at great prices. I have three of them (so far) and have no complaints. My Saito .65 is in their big Super Frontier Senior; not scale or aerobatic, but a fun, relaxing flyer. Good camera plane, too.

Good flying,

I have both the Sato 56 and the OS 52 in the Midwest Aerobats and they are a blast to fly. I'm right on the edge of a Hover and I think it's my fault they don't, with a 65 in one it should really be great. Both of my planes have been put through Hell and they are still in great shape , about 100 flights each. Check them out on falcon-trading.com. ENJOY !!! RED

Midwest Aerobat, or Seagull Decathlon
I haven't flown the Aerobat.

The Seagull Decathlon is top notch in quality. Read MinFlyers review on it. He covers it all pretty well.

It flies great. Lands great. Take off is a little squirrley untill you get the hang of using the right amount of right rudder and throttle--but it's really not hard. Just something you gotta get used too on this particular ARF.

Fun plane and lots of guys come over to my bench at the field and want to talk about it.

ModelTech Magic 3D
Goldgerb Tiger 2
Great Planes Super Sportster 40
Great Planes Big Stick 40
Pheonix Models Fun Star 3D
Pheonix Giles 202
Pheonix Sukhoi SU-31

Lots of choices. Ant of the above listed planes will work fine with your engine. They are all aerobatic to some degree. Notice that I didn't list any Cubs or Kadets??

None of them are really "scale". The Pheonix Giles and the Sukhoi are kinda scale lookin'--but not really true scale.

I am looking at the World models Ultimate 40s for myself. I have a Saito 56 that needs a home.

Get a Phoenix SeaBee. It's a nice deal at $100 for a great flying plane. Running an OS .52 Surpass in mine and it has more than enough power. The Saito .65 would be a good match.

Ya mean this one?

Thats a 2-stroke Tower Hobbies .75 engine hanging on the firewall. I modified the wings to have a single HS-81 servo for each aileron. I put an HS-225 on each elevator. HS-475 on the rudder and an HS-425 on the throttle.

I haven't flown it yet. Balances perfect. Weight is 5.25 pounds.
