Default Seagull Sea Fury

Anyone bought/built/flown one of these yet? Looks a lot of kit for the money.

I've been VERY impressed by Seagull models - haven't seen or heard of the Sea Fury. That would be a excellent addition to their fine line of kits.

What are the retracts like. Are they lightweight or heavy duty. I fly off a roughish field which causes retract problems. Some photos would be nice.

They seem realy strong.Think its 4.5mm wire.Used the T/F cockpit and it looks great.
Made the exhausts using plug fuses epoxied to shaped balsa and it turned out the biz.
would recomend using a seperate battery for retracts. Will keep ye up to date Keith.
working on the photo bit.I'm a newbie.

Looks like you're going to town on this one. The photos are great you have made an exceptional job of the cockpit what pilot did you use and what's the engine? All looks very neat and tidy can't wait for your flight report, keep the info coming.

It's very new yet. Hopefully, it as well as the Dual Ace will be imported. I contacted a UK seller about the Dual Ace and even though they claim worldwide shipping have had no response from them.

I think I'm going to wait for KMP's new Sea Fury, which should hit store shelves in February. It has scale split flaps and comes with much improved pneumatic retracts.

You think 85 bucks is steep, you should try shipping gear to OZ from Tower Hobbies in the states[X(]. All the RC stuff down here is over priced. Even with the high shipping costs Tower is still cheaper!

Yes i used the C G as per the manual,i found with the small wheels supplied It allways tipped on landing and was difficult to take off so used bigger wheels,i used a Sc 120 fs,and was disapionted with performance and have now converted it to the new Zenoha 20 cc petrol ,and wow what a difference it has made ,fitted easy on the firewall ,and hides in cowl pretty good

i THink 26 will be too heavy ,with the 20 fitted and the 2 batteries and reciever set on the trailing edge of the fus and electronic ignition on the box section of the bulkhead i didnt have to add any weight it balanced perfect ,you will have to let me know how she flies once you have completed her

Crashtruk, Don't know how you are doing your currency conversion from US$ to Aust $, or where you buy you stuff from, but you are way off beam.
Importing from Tower and pay their exhorbitant postage costs? You gotta be kidding.
For example I can get an OS .46AX from Perth Hobbies for $A138 delivered. Tower's price plus postage converted to Oz $- $179!!!
And as for kits? They can only be shipped over via UPS and that costs as much, if not more than the kit does.

the zenoah is 1179gram. and the mvvs is 1096gram. so that i snot a problem. mvvs 26 ifs/rc is the same engine as evolution 26 gt. at half the prise. it is mvvs that is making the evolution gass engines.

but when i calculatet the MAC and CG of the wing i found it locatet 12cm from leading edge not 6-7cm as stated in the manual. I think it looks more right too it will be 3cm in front of the main spar in the wing.

I realised I was wrong about C O G. I didnt se that it should be measured at the wing tip not at the fueselage. I wil give report here when i have maiden it. wil be one of the first days
