I flew her today and think it must be one of the nicest planes i have. fly almost like a trainer more than anough power with a sc108 converted to diesel and a apc 15x8 prop. takeoff at half trottle. wery good plane.

Hi, just finished putting one of these together. Reading some of the other posts I may have to re think the engine. I have a Saito 91s FS installed at the moment. Any comments are more than welcome.

Don’t know if anyone else has had a problem with the sloppy retracts supplied. Mine work ok, the up-lock is fine, but when there down and locked thers a good ¼ inch sidewise play in them. Makes the plane very wobbly on the ground[:@]

Mine was the same but there is allen screws in the retracts so you can adjust and take most of the slop out of them ,but i am going to put bigger wheels on as well ,because on grass on landing tips the nose very easy

Thanks I’ll have a look for the screws later and see what I can do. I intend to put on larger wheels as well. Think I can get some 2 ¾ to fit in. Just need to nail all the batteries in place and set the COG and hopefully fly it this weekend.[X(]

Another question I’d like to throw open… how effective are the flaps? Also what seems to be the optimum maximum deflection. Got mine set at about 30 degrees max down right now.

The flaps are effective. I had a hard landing today. i tryed the flaps on my 3rd landing and came in way to slow. so when i lowerd the flaps the plane stoppet and dropped 2 meters down . landed on the main gear and rippet off one of the gear. it broke were it was glued before so it was an easy job to fiks.

Thanks Tyor. Nice to here the flaps are effective. Our field has a fairly short runway so I might need them.

WEll i must admit ,i have never used the flaps and not needed to ,we have short runway but she comes in very slow and stable and no signs of dropping a wing either ,it s a trainer ,but at the moment cutting wings out to put bigger wheels on ,and nicked the zenoha out of it for yet another good seagull plane ,so at the moment she is not flying

Pleased to her it’ll fly slowly without flaps. I’ve been flying a Seagull PC9 which would use up most of the strip. I also have Dual Ace nearing completion which definitely needs all the strip and more.

Just have to set COG on the Sea Fury (going for 6.5cm) then hopefully fly next weekend. Be interesting to see how it goes on the Saito 91

I have dual ace too and yes comes in quick had to use sub c battery pack on the bulk head for getting weight right ,and used 46 ax in and wow she flies well had most of seagull range now onto the yak which waiting for good day to test fly her

Well had the zenoha g200 which is 20cc engine very light and flys dream in the seafury so now run in and installed in yak ,and will get new one for fury when i finish sorting bigger wheels out on it

Not much range. Sig kits only . Price is [:'(] Way too high. I don't know if you are messing up the exchange rates from $US to $AUD . Tower is heaps cheaper.

Anyone in the U.S. buy one of these yet? Horizon appears to be the distributor but I doubt they will sell Seagull's warbird line to compete against their own. Anyone know anything about Great Hobbies in Canada? They seem to be the only one I have found that sells this bird near the U.S.
