Where to find yellow/black Pitts Special by Advanced Scale Models?
First saw this yellow/black Pitts Special in Model Airplane News Feb. 2006 on page 39, under New Gear section. A web search did not find Advanced Scale Models but I did come across a news letter which also highlighted the plane. The plane is a 1.20 size bipe and my have a fiber-glass fuselage. If anyone knows where to find this company or plane, please email me, [email protected]. Thanks guys.

Just checked and Hobby People has it on their web site, no details but it's there.

I really like the looks of this plane but I wonder what they mean by *wrapped in a molded plastic skin* and *covered and trimmed in film*. I'd like to know what it's covered with and whats with the plastic fuse??? Is this some type of new process? why not fiberglass? It's a good looking bipe and a good price if the quality is good. I can't wait to see a build thread on this one.

If you are looking for a quarter scale Pitts I would recoment the Cermark. Mine is powered by a GMS 120 and flys great.

Ditto on the "plastic" fuse question. Unless this is something new there is a lot of skepticism of the quality amongst those with interest I've talked to.

I also wondered about this Pitts, The Dehaviland Comet as well. I posted a thread asking, and Got a response from someone representing himself a being from the distributor. According to him, the fuse is slightly built up (a few formers and a few stringers) and a thin plastic skin (molded I suppose) is adhered to this light framework. (does not sound too substantial to me) I'm gonna pass on these until this construction method is proven. (I don't care how cheap it is ) A cheap piece of crap is still a piece of crap. This is not to say that these models from this manufacturer are not great. I just don't want to play guinea pig anymore. BTDT (a lot) [:@]
