Top Flite Staggerwing

Sold mine but bought it back again some few weeks after. It have been stowed away for years but it does fly so nice. For those reading about it or saw my videos I did pull out every single wood back of CG. With SC 160 twin I am at 8,8 kg with full tank. Makes it a really slow and stable model. Love it!

I've been seriously thinking of selling mine. I don't like flying at high throttle settings and this thing seemed like it needed high power settings and wanted to drop it nose when in a turn if you slowed it down. Not my style of flying. It has a 160 twin and I brought the exhausts out the scale location. I wonder if that affected the apparent need for power. Wadda you guys think?
Since at the time we flew off grass I removed the lower doors and the tail wheel doors. Have the new doors in a box somewhere out in the shop.

Paul,
Sorry I took a bit to get back to you, went flying all weekend! I have both top and bottom wings and the interplane struts also if you are interested in them. They are in pretty much great shape. I can send you pictures if you want.

No need for pics. I’m definitely interested. Any idea what you’d have to have for them?
Ill be at the Sepulveda basin for their swap meet on the 19th. I could pick them up from you if it all works out.
Appreciate the opportunity

Guys, I know this is an old thread, but I thought I'd try here first since the "For Sale" section is now worthless. Cleaning out my garage, I found a new in the box cowl for the TF Staggerwing, if anyone is interested in buying it. Not sure how much they were when they were available, so make me a decent offer.

Old thread I know.....just about ready to start my build I have had a nib kit for some time.....also have a second complete kit with slight fuse damage but have replacement parts to fix...new wing set, windscreen, etc....cowl. May well that when I finish my complete mint one.
any building tips? I am considering a DLE-35 ra .....also make a DLE 40 twin. Quality is this arf is nice.....nothing like it available anymore.

I have one that's been a 10 year project. I have a 7-35 radial for mine. I gutted the fuselage to lighten things up. Will place some balsa sticks in there if it looks like I have and vibration issue. That is, if I ever get around to finishing it. Probably be right around the time there will be no place you can fly.

See post 1732 and 1747, sadly, I have not made any more progress. I actually did go buy some servos and other bits I needed to finish up, then the FAA thing hit and for now I'm not interested in spending time or money on anything RC. I continue to fly what I have until I see what really shakes out.

Great thanks looks like I replied to one of those 8 years ago! I need to save my coins and find one ...It looks really good in the plane and I am very happy it fits with no mods to the cowl for the rockers! I understand with the FAA stuff ...
Yours is looking good hopefully one day we can see that bad boy run and fly

Not really affecting fixed wings other than having to be FAA tagged at my club. They really frown upon those that do not register at my club. If you are a fixed winger who has flown at a rc flying club there is no big deal. I still fly at parks and baseball/soccer/football fields. Personally I just do not like how FAA has gotten into the mix but it at this point has not affect me.
