Default Great Planes Venus II

I am thinking about purchasing the new Great Planes Venus II Airplane. I plan to use an Os 120 four stroke engine. I am looking for an aircraft that will fly good rolls, loops, inverted, etc. I use to fly the lower class patterns, but not interested in purchasing the aircraft just for that purpose. I just want an honest airplane.

Has anyone received one and if so, how does the quality look?

Any comments will be appreciated.

Thank,

Ed

Looks like nobody has one since they won't be shipped for a while.

The smaller Venus flew OK, so the larger one has to be better.

I have been seeing them in the LHS around here. No one I know has one yet though.

The kits started shipping early last week and several others here on RCU-- including myself-- have received one (see threads in this forum as well as Pattern forum). ARF is typical GP quality with a very complete hardware package (even includes the external plug for the "fill-line").

I am planning on using a YS .91FZ and it looks like I can keep the RTF weight well under 8lbs! The ARF is less than 5lbs out of the box (including needed hardware but no engine/electronics).

I can post pictures if anybody is interested.

How is the pattern flying ability of the Venus II? How does it fare with Quest 3D G2?

I don't think anybody has had a chance to get the plane into the air yet (at least I haven't). Specs seem very similar to the Quest or Excelleron 90, but I have not owned or flown either of those planes so I cannot make a fair comparison.

No flight reports yet? Must be really good and nobody has the time to post. They are flying too much.
