If YOU are planning on putting this thing on the market, you SHOULD test it with an engine in the recommended range.
Why would you "test" it with an engine with 30% more displacement than it was designed for? If you want to test the robustness of the firewall and surrounding structure, go for it.

If you want to test the plane, use several different engines so the buyer can make a informed choice. Be honest when you tell us what the plane can do with each type of engine you use. Dennis

#1. I firmly believe that Unbalanced it correct. You should not test or demo the plane with a larger engine than advertised. I think it will limit your sales since the regular guy, and buyer, will think it has to be overpowered to be able to fly well.
#2. I think your engine size limits need to be revised. I don't think any 1.08's are being made any more. The 2-stroke size should be uprated to 1.20. Then I would test with the OS 1.20. I would also test with the 1.20 4-stroke.

YAK 140? Is that a 140 2 stroke or 4 stroke? You are limited in a 140 2 stroke choice. 4 stroke should be the YS-160 or Saito 180 size. Looks like you need to put the OS 140 2 stroke in it. Talk about pricey!!!! Oh, and what about a gas 2.4? People will feel the need!

If you are thinking about the MVVS26 why not take a good look at the BCMA SPER-26 gas engine. There is a photo on his web page of the little engine hovering a 120 size Cap232 which is about the same size as your Yak. This little engine weighs only 2lbs 4oz with the EI ignition and muffler and I have seen this engine, it is really small and will fit nicelly into your cowl. The price is right at $250.00 and I will spin an 18x8 prop which should give you plenty of pulling power. Here is the link. www.bcma.com
