They are both very nice planes, but I think the Tiger is better looking than the Fourstar. A Saito 91 would power either nicely. I've flown both (for other people).

I have a tiger 60 with a os91 four stroke, I put a fultz nose gear for prop clearance. the single strut nose gear had to much give on grass and added clearance for the 14x6 prop. If you go taildragger no problem. Also mine is the arf which you will have to add a little nose weight. But this is a great built arf and flys great.

Hey Woodie, me again, go with the Four Star 60 and a OS FS 91. You will not regret the decision. Being a tail dragger you won't have to worry about prop clearance and having a weak nose gear. The Four Star is a great flyer, is very stable but yet can do aerobatics, not a 3D plane but that is not what you are looking for.

The plane depends on your ability. The Tiger is more stable and forgiving, but it's also a great acrobat. The 4* is less forgiving, bot probably the better aerobat.
As far as the engine goes, if it's your first 4-stroke, Get the OS 91, it's about the most consistantly reliable engine I've ever owned. And it runs great on regular 15% fuel (I use Cool Power)

I'm on my second Tiger 60 one tail dragger, one tricycle with Fultz nose gear. Started with a MVVS .61 and pipe (incredible power and speed, but Very finicky) and now am using a OS .91 Surpass. I love these planes for advanced trainer/ aerobatics and the OS is the right engine. It did need nose weight with both engines. BTW, you can shorten the wings by one rib and get a quantum leap in aerobatic performance ( rolls, spins, etc.) The 4* is a very good plane also, but I've never owned one.

I had a tiger II .40 size once, and was very impressed with it for intermediate flight. Based on all the data available here (tons on both of these planes), flip a coin, as both are great. Pick which one looks the best to you, then fly the snot out of the little bugger!

The four * 60 was my 2nd plane after a trainer and it had a documented 287 flights (plus some unlogged) on it when I retired it. It was a great plane and I would recommend it to anyone. In fact there are three of them flying in my area now. I've never know anyone who had one who didn't love the plane. I flew mine with a well worn (used) OS 91 4 stroke and it was a pleasure to fly. Did enough aerobatics to keep me growing but slowed to a trainer like landing speed. I've been thinking about getting another one and converting it to electric. In my humble opinion you can't go wrong with any of the 4 stars.

4* - I have had every size and now fly the 120 - I've flown many a tiger and it is a great plane as well.
My choice is the 4* but if you choose otherwise I'm sure you will be happy as the Tiger is a great plane too. A win win situation man.
