Cedar Hobbies 81" Twin Phoenix Arf
Neil of Cedar Hobbies stopped by the house last night to show me his newest ARF....Which Just happens to be a twin...Drool.......Personal preference!!! It's a twin thing!!!
He is calling it the Phoenix. At 81" wingspan, it would appear to be one of the larger sport twins around. He showed me that is does have removable wings with two wing tubes.
The over all lenght is 68" long. The horizontal stabilizer is....37" wide..wow...and the rudder, which is very important to twin fliers, is 16" tall and almost four inches wide.
It is a tricycle gear, with fixed gear.
$@^%&*&$#!!! Job that supports the hobby...Have to leave town.!!!!
More as this progresses. You can see more at Cedarhobbies.net.

I wondered if someone would pick up on that one!!!!!!!!!! Should have known...9 points!!! Tee Hee
What you are looking at weighs six pounds...what would have been funny to watch would have been Neil of Cedar Hobbies phsically push me over to catch the only one here. The main shipment arrives on Monday next week.

PS Uh Neil is a "Bit" leaner than myself. Took years to build this bod' with a steady diet of twinkies, ca, epoxy, and nitro!!

Yes, it has a two piece wing with two wing tubes. You have allen screw under canopy.
Wing size and tail is similar to my converted US 1000 twin..should be MUCH faster than a stick if pushed. Wings thinner.
From my experience on US 1000 MUST use high torque servos on ailerons.
This things tail is HUGE and big rudder. A good thing for engine out.

Yes, the canopy comes off to access the wing bolts, like other planes. But, if you have better idea, sent message to Neil at Cedar Hobbies.net.
He is always open to listen and he IS the manufacturer, not an importer.

"Yes, the canopy comes off to access the wing bolts, like other planes."
What other planes would that be?
Check out any Cap/Extra/Edge/Yak/Giles larger than 40 size for the accepted way to access wing bolts and radio components when using a two piece wing.
Edit: The Dual Ace also has a hatch. Removing the canopy every time you take the airplane apart will very quickly wear out the canopy screw holes and/or crack the canopy. Not to mention the hassle of removing and installing 6 screws instead of 2 and probably leaving the canopy home at least once. Also, some people prefer to attach the canopy with glue or trim tape for a better appearance.

ORIGINAL: Cyclic Hardover
How about optional retracts. Would look real good in flight with no wire struts hanging off of it. Maybe design them so that a set of Hobbico mechanicals would drop right in.

Kmot,
You know, that is what I like about RCU..All the helpful ideas..Two MORE engines!!! on the left side...now why didn't I think if that!! Tee Hee. Seriously, with a little modification, this could work, but should be done from the beginning, so that the original nacelles could be moved inboard a bit more..No, not this time!!!.Mmmm..... Aerobatic four engine sport plane???....I need a nap!! REAL BAD!!!!
