Anyone flying this plane that would care to give some info on how the plane flys, quality, pros & cons, and what engine your running. I'm interested in a gas engine on the business end.

rtn9105,

I have read that thread but was hoping to hear from someone running a gasser instead of glow. I'm wanting to put the Brillelli 40cc or 46cc gasser on the bussiness end but was wanting some info about the power of the 40cc with a Xoar 20X8 prop and if it would have enough power for unlimited vertical so I could save weight by using it over the 46cc. If the 40cc doen't have it then I'll go with the 46cc running a Xoar 22X8 prop. Thanks.

I know that aerobob (who started that thread) and at least one other guy ran a Brison 2.4 which is a 40cc on their Yaks and there's many post about the plane and engine. Aerobob also has lots of info and pics of his plane on his web page http://www.rcaerobats.net

Also on post #341 theres some pictures from a guy that put a DA 50 on this plane.

Get the 46cc for the Yak. I have it's brother the Extra 330 77" with the 46cc on it and pulls hard. U'll love it. 46cc only 5oz heavier then the 40cc, So it's a no brainer. Get the 46cc

I have the goldberg Yak 54 and love it. Whoever built mine did a perfect job. The plane flys really well and is stable coming in for a landing. I can land it slower then some of my other planes.
It is a pleasure to fly. I have a gas Brison 2.4 motor in it. NO, it will not do unlimited vertical but my loops are big enough for me and I am not interested in doing 3-D stuff. But I do like to practice the expert pattern maneuvers. I am thinking of getting another just to have for a spare.

I need a new cowl for my Goldberg 77" Yak 54 ARF. My original one is developing cracks and fractures. I'm afraid it isn't going to hold up too much longer. Anyone out there have an extra to spare? Would appreciate any/all leads towards finding a new one. I am flying mine with a ST 3250 ( which has finally given out, not to my suprise) and I am upgrading to an O.S. 3500 BGX-1. The Chinese ST 3250 has really been a dissapointment to me since I have been a lifelong ST fan. It just has not held up that well. Mostly head bolts not staying tight and blown head gaskets. Getting off the subject here so I will ask again. Any one have a cowl for this model??? I will pay your price in quick fashion. You can reply to this post or directly to my contact info given below. I have a DL 50 in mineand fly's great. Have to put about 10 oz of lead in the tail. Be careful on the landings, it slows up fast. Its a little sensitive to the surfaces but that's what I enjoy. Ineed parts for this airplane if anyone knows where to find them. Bill email - [email protected]
