Default Yak 54 from Peak Models

Recieved my Yak 54 from peak today. Everything looked good started building it. I already have the Horizonal and Vertical stab's glued in and 1 wing Aileron and servo installed probally 1.5 hr invested so far. Plan on flying it this weekend. I am going to post the whole build up here.

Here is my setup.

Jr 8411's every where.
Evoloution 26 GT
Fromeco 2 cell on Ing
Fromeco 4 cell on radio
16 oz fuel tank
she is weight's 10LBS on Digital Bathroom Scales
3 flights on her she is flying Ok moved the CG back and waiting for some good weather maybe tomorow or Wednesday.
The 26 is plenty of power running a 18X6W APC prop. Hovers about 1/3 stick pulls out very well.

more info after the next flight or 2 and I will give a full report of what I think of her and some video.

Ok could not wait for better weather here is some video of the first flights. The cg is still not where I want it I will shoot some more when I am done. The evolution mounts on a saddle mount like all rc engines and it is throwing the cg off on the plane going to try to get it closer to the firewall there engine looks to mount on stand off and can be mounted closer. I have a ZAGI battery in the tail for weight and it is still nose heavy.

Nice video. It looks like the plane flies very well.

Question - do you know what the covering is - Ultracote (aka Oracover), or is it some cheap "chinacote" stuff?

Thanks.

The plane is built very light mine is a 11 lbs and it fly well with the evolution on a mount I had to add weight to the tale. With there engine you should be fine or even a Saito 100 to 125 or Ys 110 would all be good choices.

great plane for the money.
I think I would like there Edge also.

Eddy

Do you think an O.S 1.60 would too much power, and would it help with the ballence.

Thanks: Matt

a lot of power for this plane it would be fun compare the weight on it to a evo 26 from horizons website if it is lighter it would be awesome.

Hello,

I have the new 70'' Yak from Peakmodel.
You can see the pictures here : [link]http://super-modeles.niceboard.com/VOL-THERMIQUE-f1/Yak-54-Peakmodel-et-SPE-40-cm3-t12.htm[/link]
It's a very good kit, the quality of building is better than the EDGE 540T Peakmodel. You need less thime for assembly.

The elevator is in two parts :

I will add a lot of pics soon.
