RE: Sig Rascal 110
Looks like sometime in November. I hope to have mine up and running next month with a few flights on her. I am ordering her in a few weeks. If I can get a trailer to haul it up in.

Looking at the manual I see nothing but what little is on page 4 about the wing joiner blade and the rear locating tube. Is anybody glueing these into one wing panel or are they to be taken out when tearing down for the day? Also, wires from the rear stab to the fin, the manual doesn't call for them but are they needed?

i thought about installing flying wires on ours, but they just did not look right. could not really find a good angle for them that would look right. we have been flying ours pretty hard and have not had any issues yet!!!
got 3 flights on mine today with the Zenoah G26 and 2 flights on a friends with a big electric with a large 5 cell pack..........i think he found the right battery and prop combination because it flew like a raped ape.
thanks

I have gone to a G38 on electronic ignition on my Rascal. Flies great. Intended for Glider towing.
I cut a hatch in the bottom to access the ignition battery, etc.
The rascal can handle the motor, just check the firewall before you mount it.
I have an aluminum strip brace under the stabs (like a flying wire), none on top yet.

Saw a 110 Rascal fly a couple of weeks ago in Bowling Green. He has a Saito 180 with a custom exhaust. You would have thought this thing was an aerobat instead of a big trainer. knife edge, loops and that good pilot stuff plus he would hover it about 20 feet off the deck and then go straigh up with unlimited vertical, and besides all of that it had that terrific 4- stroke sound

Anyone flying one of these with the 20cc Zenoah? That's the set up I'm considering for my 110, I'd like to keep as much of the engine cowled as possible...and muffled. Anyone have ideas on this?

Hello 3010charles,
Did you have a look at the picture (and engine) of my Rascal, as found on:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...=6#post8357035
The RotoMotor engine is compact, powerful, extremly reliable and well-suited as powerhouse for a Rascal 110. An tuned-pipe is used from Krummscheid, it's mounted inside the fuselage.
Regards.

Eric,
Thanks for all the nice comments about our club. That's what this hobby is all about, having a good time, meeting people, and making new friends. My Rascal is basically finished to the point where I'm just waiting for the G26 from Ralph C. We need to have a "Rascal" fly-in .

Eric
I tried to send you an e-mail. Let me know if you received it.
Really like the way you flew the Rascal 110. Reminds me of old days in B.G.
Would a G-38 be to much engine for the airframe?

Zippie I think he did about 3 minutes work on mine. He just knew what to do and I didn't or I would have done it myself. I hope you get yours sooner than later. Our fly in is on the 26th. I am glad I will have my rascal ready.

Hey Ed,
i received your e-mail. as far as powering with a G38, i have not seen one fly with one. i have not checked the weight on the engine. Bill from up around E-town, KY posted in one of these threads that he powered his with that engine. i tried to find a good reliable power source that would not take to much cutting of the cowl. its about time for you to come and visit. we are having a all warbird event here on Oct. 18th in BG. would be great to see you and the P47 in town that weekend, if you are able. check the website www.skymacrc.com for more info. i should have my Texan back together after some unsheduled fuel tank repair along with just a good going through. Kerry will be there with his Ziroli P38 and Ziroli Corsair that he built off a set of plans. both planes fly extremely well.
hope to see you soon

I heard from Ralph C. and he said my G26 is in the mail. Hopefully I can get my Rascal in the air in a couple of weeks. As long as the cold weather doesn't move in. I don't fly when I'm cold. Just not enjoyable.
Eric,
Some of us here in Evansville plan on coming to your Warbird event next weekend. I personally won't be bringing a plane, just out for the enjoyment .
