HI Everyone:

We are looking for more feedback regarding the color scheme. We chose this color scheme from one of the most famous Canadian Norseman's located in Red Lake Ontario Canada, registration CF-DRD. Its very bright and easy to see!

We can certainly still offer the model in limited numbers in all white so the modeler can complete the model in his/her color preferences. Please surf the net and offer any suggestions you think are better. I also like a white, yellow, blue version which I will post shortly. Hopefully all you Norseman lovers can offer us some great ideas.

Cheers,

Here are three Norseman pics including the original color scheme we chose to replicate... Let me know which one you think is nicer.

That plane looks lovely. When they are that large, can't the servos be kept inside?

There used to be a website for the Noordyun (sp) Norseman Festival held every year in Canada and there were many photos of just about every flying Norseman in existence! Unfortunately the website seens to be gone.

Hi "Kmot":
Thanks for the web site. We are thinking about taking a model up to Red Lake and flying it during the festival. It would be a fitting place to have a shot taken of the model among the full scale versions. Regarding the servos, all servos are located under hatches in the model. Only the arm and push rod come through.

Well to be honest with ya, I wouldn't buy one but i like the first or second color scheme. The all yellow doesn't work for me. Looks like a cartoon version of a Piper Cub. The way she is holding that plane, I first thought it was a Mud Duck

How about a Giant Long EZ?

Cheers,
I like both the muticolor schemes, but like even better the idea of offering it all white so the plane can be individualized by the buyer. I assume this is a fiberglass fuse/skinned wing? My only real beef with most ARF's is that they all look the same, but I understand that the mfg can't go with umpteen different schemes.

My only other suggestion is to offer floats for it, just like the ones in your photos. This big of a model will look great out over the water. As an afterthought, a white one done in O.D. green and military markings would be a great memorial to Glenn Miller, who disappeared in one of these planes.

HI:
The fuse is actually full balsa and ply construction ... just like the real plane! The cowl is of course fiberglass galss. We are working on floats now as we speak. The float set should be offered by the time the model is released in the Spring. the floats will be much longer than the floats we currently offer for the Beaver and the C-185 coming in a month. I think the floats will be about 54-55 inches (that is exactly 75% of the fuse length).

I do like the idea of the Glen Miller color scheme. I will try and find some pictures this week.

Thanks for the suggestions so far..... keep them coming!

Cheers,

Of the ones you posted, the red, black, yellow would be first choice, the all yellow isn't even a consideration.

I like the green and cream posted earlier or maybe this one also;

Hi-
We would go for this one; silver in the livery of the Royal Norweigan Air Force. Norseman was a real workhorse for several decades in the arctic area here, either on wheels, skis or floats.

HI:

I like the silver / grey look also with a hint of burgandy trim. Do you think it would be too hard to see in the sky though?

HI:
We are still waiting to determine the price. We are still waiting for some prices for the machine work to make the scale aluminum wheels. The model will probably be upwards of of $895.00. The craftmanship and materials in this model is simply unbelievable. We have the exact number of ribs in the wings and the ribbing in the fuse and rudder is scale. Keep in mind there is also an enormous amount of covering used and its the most expensive on the market. We bring it in from the Germany! Its Oratex Fabric.

The price is one of the best on the market for a bird of this size made from premium quality materials.

Cheers,

Hi:

The price of 895.00 will not include the floats. The floats will be made of fiberglass and be upwards of 50+ inches. Normally a float set of that size would cost in the neighborhood of $300.00 or more. Ours will be less but its still not possible to inlcude such a big set in the price. Take a look at what " Sea Commander" floats run to get an idea of what a nice set should cost. In any event, we are trying to give as much value as possible by including aluminum scale wheels and impecable workmanship... Even the struts have resin molded fairings where it meets the wing.

Got it, I didn't think it could include the floats, but wanted to ask.

I don't own any of your planes...yet...but have seen them at my LHS. They appear VERY nice compared to other options out there.
