Default Post the online dealers you have good results with

In another thread about yet again even more problems with DPM, someone suggested to 'bragg on' the good dealers.
With the complaints we know who to stay away from, but seldom who it is safe to do business with.

So that's why I started this thread.

Post the name of the dealers you have had GOOD results from.

Dealers please don't post here. I would like to keep this legitimate.

The dealers I use and have had good success with are;

1. [link=http://towerhobbies.com/]Tower Hobbies[/link]
2. [link=http://www.servocity.com/index.html]ServoCity[/link]
3. [link=http://superflyrc.com/]SuperFly RC (David cares about his customers even after the sale)[/link]

There are some others I have bought from, but had such poor results from, that they can't go on this list.

I have good dealings with

Tower
Horizon

And recently a new one and i mean new I was order number 4

Hobbies Discounter

When I get around to it, ie not build a new T-34 I will post my experience with him, but to say that I was very impressed would be an understatement.

Tower Hobbies is always a delight to deal with.

http://www.thundertiger4u.com has been terrific to deal with as well. They've actually tracked down Thunder Tiger parts for me that they didn't have in their catalog just so I could order them. Quick and responsive customer service! I love Ace Hobby and Thunder Tiger planes and engines, and it's nice to find a source for virtually any part or hard-to-find item that I could want that has good service and good pricing.

I've ordered one plane from www.raidentech.com and I was satisfied with the transaction. I would order from them again if I found something on their site that I wanted.

Tomas at VQ gets my vote. He even helped me with a P38 that wasn't from him over the Labor day weekend. That's service.

Another vote for good service from Tower Hobbies. Very easy to use web site and excellent customer service-always. Also had good service from Horizon Hobbies---web site sucks, but good honest outfit to do business with. And have also had good service and happy with their product= PSP engine stand people.

I don't order from Horizon out of principal. If they can't get their website together enough for me to be able to navigate it easily--I ain't spending a dime on them. Horizon ain't the only game in town for H9 parts and planes.

here is one no one has mentioned yet that i like because of no shipping over $75 and no sales tax
service and inventory are next to none also, and web site is really user friendly with all that horizon and tower offers all in one site.

Tower is the only dealer i do regular online business with and they are great. in the past
i have done business with Jetcat and BVM jets they both were good, also Hobby Lobby
they were ok. and for the rest of my dealing in the mail order arena they were poor to
fair.

One thing i dont like is when a dealer takes your money and they dont have the product
in stock I dont do repeat business with dealers that operate that way. a long time ago
I did a mail order from Horizon and they were good but they charge tax to Calif residents
so i dont do online ordering from them. If I want a Horizon product i will purchase it from
a local hobby store.

For anyone interested in WW1 I would like to mention Glenn Torrence. He offers wonderful products that are one of a kind, and has that cool losenge fabric for 1\4 and 1\3 scale German planes. Check out the cockpit kits.

This is one of those I bought from, and could not recommend.

The reason is, I was overcharged EVERY TIME I ordered from them. So it wasn't just a one time mistake, it was every time, every order, until I learned to call in the order, talk to a person, and verify and CONFIRM what the grand total was that would be charged to my credit card.

They did refund the overcharges, AFTER I brought it to their attention, and AFTER I requested a refund of the overcharge amount. Also, it usually took at least one cycle of my credit card for the refunds to show up, which amounts to free money for them for a month. That means I pay any interest for that month for their "mistake", and they get interest from my money for that month, which they didn't refund.

It was usually a small amount, like charging for shipping when it was advertised as free for the amount I ordered. I guess most people ignore those amounts.

And AFTER contacting them about the overcharges, they then informed me of another charge, per order, that had not been disclosed earlier. What this other small charge amounts to is an additional hidden shipping charge which you will be charged for.

So I don't order anything from them unless it's the only place that has what I want. And then I have learned to ALWAYS call the order in, and ALWAYS get a total amount to be charged to my credit card. They don't seem to like it when I want everything verified, but then they shouldn't have overcharged in the past.

I guess this would not have come out here except that their name came up as recommended. And since I know what they did to me, it wouldn't be right to let that stand without explanation.

WOW! What a long list.

If I had ordered just one time from all of those, I would probably be bankrupt, and maybe divorced. [sm=teeth_smile.gif]

I didn't list Horizon because the two times I did order from them it left me wondering how much was the grand total with shipping (didn't find out until the order arrived) and if and when it shipped, and when could I expect it. In other words, lack of complete and proper communication from them.

Also, since they're on your list, I'll pass this on. The word out at the club is, avoid Lanier. The reason given is cheap junk (not so cheap prices though) that usually doesn't last even one flying season. And poor customer service, or a lack of it. These planes don't show up at the field anymore. The word of mouth grapevine does work on a local level.

No one has mentioned any Ebay sellers. My vote would go to

[link=http://stores.ebay.com/Toms-RC-Simulator]Tom's RC Simulator[/link]

I have had great experience with Tower Hobbies and Chief Aircraft.

This fall when I needed a JR 791 servo they seemed to be the only vender in the country to have one. Horizon was still out of stock a month after I had mine.

So far, it looks like Tower Hobbies is the favorite, and most reliable these days.

Of course we all know that can change very quickly. All it takes,as an example, is one new manager that thinks he knows everything and instantly a company can go from 1st to last place.

Any others?
