The test was a success! Also, your mod should help solve the sloppy elevator problem. Just be sure to brace the pushrods so they don't flex.
I'm mounting a pair of JR Sport M35's in the stab...aka the Hangar 9 Twin Otter. That method works great in that airframe (just maidened it! ) I'll post some photos of the stab/elev/servo mod later.

Gary, I believe that among all of us we can really make the best, cheaper scale, nices loocking plane. It is a pitty That CMP wont incorporate the modifications for improvement of their products. What a shame.! Jose

Here are some photos and info on mounting the servos in the stab.
Drill a 3/8" hole about 3/4" of an inch from the trail edge of the stab for the servo wire exit and a corresponding hole in the fuse tail mounting area. Using the measurements shown will place the cut out area pretty much evenly between the 2nd and 3rd ribs. I had some scrap 3/32" aircraft ply that I used. Of course, you may have to adjust slightly if your servos are not the same size as those JR Sport 35's Those little servos worked fine in the Twin Otter...should not be a problem in the "Cessna"

You don't need a choke, simply use any electric starter, that is what i do.

Hello guys!
I'm tracing this thread since long time and now decided to join your family.
I own this model since 2 years. Considering price it is really one of the best scale cessna of this size on the market. Hera are some informations about used equipment:
engine: Zenoah Komatsu G260PU 26ccm gasser with 17x10 propeller
servos: HS 311-throttle, HS 325HB - ailerons and flaps, HS 635HB- elevator, TP 5010- rudder
Lights module: Night fly NF-3XL with high power leds.
It was difficult for me to find reasonably good airfield, so I decided to put it on floats. I used Great Planes Sport Floats Kit .60 size.
RTF weight is now almost 8kg but with this engine it takes off even with 1/2 throttle.
Here are some photos and movies:

Hey all. Long time no talk. I was just roaming the web and found this. If you want to keep the CMP nose wire, it can mount to this. Might be a good alternative when the Robart is out of stock which is about half the year. Bob http://www.airpowernet.com/twe3/prod...roducts_id=259

Very, Very nice work. I love the video. It is a shame that the closest lake is not as calm as yours, onless you get up at 5 o'clock in the morning.
Nice video,

darod07 nice work, did you by chance reinforce the wings at all as per previous threads in regard to the weak spot.

Yes I did. After few flights I observed covering film was cracked in mentioned weak spot. So I did surgery on both wings.Recently I also exchanged stock pushrods for elevator and rudder. From the beginning I installed supplied pushrods and reinforced them with pieces ofplywood along the fuselage. Last month I almost lost my plane because of loosen socket head screw of the elevator pushrod. So I installed new control horns for elevator outside the fuselage and connected them with plastic pushrods. I think this is much more reliable. You can also easilyobserve if something is going wrong withelevator linkage. Below pictures of my modification:

NICE IDEA! THERE IS SO MUCH SLOP IN MY ELEVATORS THAT I AM ALMOST SCARED TO FLY IT. SO FAR IT HAS BEEN FLYING JUST GREAT THOUGH! IT SEEMS WHEN THE ELEVATOR IS ACTUATED UP OR DOWN, IT TIGHTENS UP ,,, WHAT IS UP WITH THAT? JUST WHEN LEVEL IT IS SLOPPY,,, ANYWAY, I LIKE THE IDEA OF RUNNING THE CONTROL RODS OUTSIDE LIKE THAT,, SAVES ADDING WEIGHT TO THE TAIL BY PUTTING THE SERVOS IN THE HORIZONTAL STAB LIKE SOME OF THE OTHERS I HAVE SEEN,,, DAY

Now I have prepared my Cessna for bush flying. I will tow sailplanes at a grass field (just like the field "darod07" uses).
I have changed nose gear to Fults Dual Strut Nose Gear 5" .60-1.2
Main wheels Dubro 4½"
Nose wheel Dubro 4"
My premiere with new wheels. I had some problems with my engine (listen when I go vertical at full throttle).

Could it be something wrong with the connecting rod?

Johan, If I were you, I would open theengine and ck the conecting rod, just as a precaution. Was the engine doing that cluncking noise before??. (2nd movie)If all is A-OK, All you did was waist a couple of hrs and, if not A-OK you saved a good engine. Words of experience. Hope all is OK.

Juan,
That is a great looking plane.
Do you know that CMPro stop manufacturing this model. I can not locate a HS that sells this model even NitroAirplane that used to sell this model without the Skylane logo is also out, no available parts and even CMPro, took it off their websight. This means if we mess up we will have a hard time rebuilding this beautiful bird.
So Fly high!

Don´t worry! you can foud it at:
http://ak-models.com/mm5/merchant.mv..._Code=CMPScale
I have my cesnna well advanced in the assembly. I have resolved some of the problems with this model, especially the direction and elevation controls, placing a guide to plywood to prevent slack that produces carbon tube supplied. I placed a few pieces of 4mm carbon tube steel covering controls, preventing these also have gaps.
To control the front wheel I have put a system of pushes and pulls, as well as for the rudder, cutting off the horn with steel ball and putting a thicker copper tube welded to a double control for the push and pull for this inside the fuselage.
The gas servo I placed behind the engine, making a bed of plywood, I used a micro servo 2.5 kg of force. In order not to use useless weight to leave the center of gravity, I placed two pack of AA batteries dual format (8 NI-CD batteries Cadmica Sanyo 1800mA) weighing about 550gr leaving the CG 70mm from the edge of the wing. The engine used is a O.S. AX 120 which I have reduced about 4mm 90 º adapter to let into the hull.
In the wings I have placed a 15mm aluminum tube inside the guide for the lights. This will prevent breakage of the wing on the union between the ailerons and flaps.
