Anyone else built this? The only person I know of is a guy on another frenzy thread and with a ys 100 he claimed he needed another 16oz on the nose to get it to balance. That was where I got the idea for the OS 1.60. It certainly has the wing area to handle the extra weight. If anyone else has any knowledge on the balance of this plane please let me know.

I did but with the evolution 1.00nx and a 16 x 4w apc prop it is at 4 1/2 ' on cg and 20oz on the nose to get it to balance im going to try to set it up on a pull pull and move the rudder servo it my work i dont know we will see i will call horizon product support today and see with comes of that anyone else try to set it up for pull pull and did it work at 4'in on the cg.

I was thinking of a Saito 125 but it weighs less than the YS 110 which is what I was also thinking about. Adding that much weight to the nose to meet the CG in the manual is not good. The power should be there but not the weight. I'm curious as to what Horizon has to say about the CG issue.

What is the AUW after adding weight to balance?

I called horizon product support today and the pull pull will not work to get the cg at 4'in. so how can i get it to balance and he told me that he will get back to me that he will email the R/D Department for a answes and get back to me on this one. I think horizon needs to come on the forum and step in and help on this one .

Sounds like they screwed up on this one. What can they say except add weight or go to a bigger engine thats way over the range they give. There goes the wing loading out the roof. I think they should give a refund to people that no longer want them.

I sent horizon hobby product support a email today and ask them to come on rcu and halp us with the balancing issue on the hanger 9 frenzy arf 100 i hope they will but we will see if they will step up to the plate like QQ aircraft co. did win they had their wing issue he new that customer satisfaction is everything in this hobby today .

I just got off the phone with horizon hobby product support on the CG issue with the h9 frenzy 100 arf and they told me that the CG should be 5" to 6" not 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 there will be a update on horizon hobby product support bullentin on thier webb site.

I would like to thank horizon hobby product support for putting up with me on this issue.

I just picked one up at the LHS CHEAP!!! He normally doesn't do nitro stuff, but he got this on Horizon's quick ship program. So, I got it at almost cost!!!

Anyway... Mine's getting a 20cc gas engine. It's a converted John Deere XT105 Weedy. I'll post some pics later. The engine ready to fly should be around the 45oz mark

Even though it's a small gasser... it should have enough poop to swing a 15" prop at 8000 rpm. And the extra weight sounds like it shouldn't hurt it.

Oh... BTW... my kit came with the updated balance point as a update to the instructions.

Well I'm in too. I have a G23 setting around that is just too good an engine not to be in something and the Frenzy is supposed to show up tomorrow. I am pretty sure it will fly good if I can get it to fit. Will keep you posted.

Im currently building one of these beasts, installed a Saito 125 GK in it.

Just need to finish off the cowling and CG and the things ready to fly, will be taking it up this Saturday.

Just a pointer to anyone building one of these with a saito 125, due to the throttle arm being real close to the firewall ditch the accelerator throttle tube, its crap and causes binding on the accelerator servo.

I just drilled out the hole in the firewall to twice the size, sealed it with some fibreglass resin and running the throttle rod without the tubing, much better and free movement.

Got to point out that this model is extremely easy to build, everything goes together well and its a very fast build, instructions are very easy to follow.

Note that the model is fairly weak so I would also recommend strengthening the firewall and around the tank area using some epoxy resin, fibre glass stuff is very good and its very light and can be painted on with a brush, dries clear and is very tough..

Got it yesterday and this is going to take some creativity. This is a very narrow airplane and the old G23 is that wide and then some-cowlings are for wimps anyway, right? Might be a good place for one of them SuperTiger gas conversions if you have the cash.

Yup… The G23 would be a tight fit. And a new cowl would have to be made. That’s why I’ve opted for the little gas engine I’m going to use. I have it bolted to the firewall, and it looks like I will only have to do a few mods to the cowling to make it fit. Basically, I will have to cut it out for the Spark plug, the Carb, and the muffler. I will also have to make a beauty bump for the flywheel. But, it’s very do-able.

But bolt that G23 up, and forget the cowl!! I want to see more Gasser Frenzy 100’s.

About 99% done. Really just have to put some triangle on the firewall (seems like the smart thing to do). Dry weight of 9-1/2# with only an 8oz tank needed, should then fly at 10#. Sad to say about a pound of that is dead weight in the tail. Forget about moving batteries back-you can't get to it. This is a very narrow airframe with little room for as big as it is. Builds fast and the only stupid thing is the precut switch area for a charge switch is too big.
Dumb question-how do you apply those stickers that come with it? When I used to do them, you soaked them in water but these appear to just stick on, correct? Will post pics when I get them and maiden should be Sunday.

I'm running a saito 125 in mine. It is extremely tail heavy. I needed 13 oz of weight in the nose. The landing gear is very weak. Once on the ground, you should try not to turn back to the pits too quickly. If you do the gear will fold under the plane. In the air the palne is not very impressive...

Looks like that gasser fits really nice in the cowl. I was at a fly-in last week and saw a Frenzy 100 flying with a YS 110. That looked like a nice match up.
