150flyer - i love that lining you have around your openings, can you please tell me how you've put on that (what seems like) black rubber lining? Thanks! BTW Sweet plane!

RE: New Great Planes Revolver
Mine arrived today. This is a very nice, well made ARF. My covering did have a few wrinkles but nothing that didn't come out easily with the iron. The only other real flaw I've found is that the wing anti-rotation pins don't line up exactly perfect but it was easy enough to solve.
I have to admit that I have been a little disappointed with Great Planes recently. The wood in their kits has been pretty bad and the two ARF's I've owned from them (U-can-do .46 and Venus .40) have been OK but not spectacular. This Revolver is a completely different story though. I am throughly impressed. I hope it flys as well as it looks.

It's definitely a cool looking plane. I may consider it down the road. I just hope the Monokote is better than the Venus ARF I just bought. I wasn't sure if it was an airplane or a prune when I opened the box. Nothing that an iron, heat gun and a lot of time couldn't make better though.

I got my Revolver 2 weeks ago and have over 20 flights on it. It is fast as hell. I have th OS ax 75 on it, a perfect combo. It is very clean and will eat up the runway quick on landing, dont be afraid to slow it down on aproach. It handles great. when I say its fast I mean 100 mph plus. A hi speed pass a foot of the deck gets alot of holy s---'s from the others at the field. Fun, Fast and Flickable!

As the late Phil Rizzuto liked to say, "Holy Cow"
Sounds great! I think the Evo .61 will be plenty for my not so young reflexes
Do you fly off grass? If so, how does it handle, any tendency to nose over as the Reactor does?
Good luck, sounds like you have a winner there!

Aerobatics are great!! Point rolls smooth, snap rolls will loosen your double glued dentures. Giant round loops are impressively clean with the revolver. A word of caution, although it flat spins beauitifuly, if you are even slightly tail heavy you may not recover. Mine was balanced perfect from the start but I got curious and it almost bit me. I took the tail weight out and it recovers ok. I fly off pavement but have landed on grass, no tendencey to nose over at all. The gear is as good as it gets The supplied spinner broke apart in flight, ordered another one and it did the same. 25 buck! I now have a red plastic one, works great.

Mine is pretty much together. All I have to do is check the CG and adjust the throws. I should have it in the air Saturday morning.

RE: New Great Planes Revolver
I plan on having mine ready to fly Saturday. I have a evo46 in mine and I will let you guys know how it flys with that engine. I may not have the power.
For an old retired guy I don't want it to fly very fast anyway. I may have to change engines. I am sorry about the spinner coming apart I hope that doesn't happen to me. ha, ha.
Happy flying, Tailspincharlie

There is a guy at the field with a os 55 ax in his Revolver and it flies great. The extra power I have is good but definitely not needed. He runs a 10x8 apc and that seems to work well.

[] Well I went out to the field today for my maiden flight. Unfortunately I had trouble with the needle I couldn't adjust the engine. It ran great the last time I used the Evo 46. I think what happened was I sodered an extension on the needle to extend out side of the cowl. I put some liquid flux on it and it screwed up the o rings and the needle threads. Have ordered a new whole needle assyembly for it that should take care of the problem. Maybe next week hopfully.

I flew mine today. This is a great looking plane that gets a lot of attention both in the pits and in the air. I flew it myself on the initial flight; it only took a little aileron and elevator trim to make it fly straight like its on rails. The .55-AX with a pitts muffler is a good power match and it sounds really cool. I tried a 12x6 and 12x7 APC; the 12x7 seemed better. On the second flight, a much better pilot took it up and wrung it out. Aerobatics were impressive. What really surprised me is how well it flew slow. Sure it's slippery and takes a bit to slow down but it didn't show any bad stall tendencies or anything once it got there. Overall, I am very impressed. I just like looking at it so much that I'm afraid to put any sort of ding in it. I'll get over that though.

RE: New Great Planes Revolver
I have had a new os 70fs surpass sitting on my work bench with only 6 flights on it ( it was in my seawind - I needed more power so I bought a new engine for it - so now I have an extra 70 four stroke lying around without a home). I have been looking around for an airplane to put it in and finally found this one about a month ago. Has anyone put a 70 on their Revolver? I hope it works because I just ordered mine today !!!! Do you guys think that it will work well? I am really exited about this plane. It looks fast and fun to fly. Let me know if you would. My plane should be here on Thursday or friday and possibly I could fly it SUNDAY!!!!![:@][:@] YEEEEE --- HHHAAAWWWW!!!!

Everyone:
Double check your CG........ there was an error in the manual. Photo's showed a different CG than the text in the body of the instructions.
