Hangar 9 1/4 Scale Piper Cub ARF???
#1601
Nice job on the templates HELI-MECH... that's going to work out just fine... and if you get the original wings back on it, it will probably fly better than it did new out of the box... they always seem to fly better after they've been bashed around a bit.

Thanks, i've cut out all the templates on a scroll saw and the crisp lines were definitely a big help. So far so good. I have the left wing from hangar 9 as i got a great deal on it, but i still need the right wing... i find it hard to justify paying over 200 bucks for a wing when i have to "OK" wings, but i would love to see how it flys on the proper stock wings. Just waiting for that right wing to come up at a good price, weather its crashed, or new or used, don't matter to me!

landing gear
Got around to fixing the landing gear, welded the bottom axle holder back to the triangular frame, but in doing so i had to removed the covering. Going bush style, and painted black now. Also a pic of what i'm working with here...

Okay I will keep my eyes open .. One other option would be to change both wings and then you would be closer to a PA 18 . I have both wings including the struts and wing tube .

Okay , let me think it over . I am going north for a float fly and will be gone for about a week . I will let you know what I think is fair when I get home . I hope you realize these wings are white with blue trim and will need to be painted or recovered . Any idea on the cheapest way to ship ? UPS ?

i believe I found the problem, casting flaw and left a deep edge where carb and reed block mounted to the engine and allowed air in. Surfaced both sides and remounted and tuned engine. Ran it hard and no issues. The first run on test stand after crash it did the exact same thing. Now all good I hope.

thanks! Very unfortunate I couldn't find the flaw a little earlier or like you said maybe a little more quality control at the MAnufacturer. I got a dud of an engine. Seems to be ok now and just fortunate I didn't bend the crank in crash.

HELI-MECH I am back from my float fly holiday and have thought over what I would like to get for my wings . I would like $200 . For that I would give you three wings , two left and one right complete with ailerons and flaps also the struts and attachments plus the wing tube . I added up the replacement parts cost and it was over $560 . You would also have to pay for shipping and insurance if you wish . I am sorry I seem to be unable to PM you .. If you wish you could E mail me your Phone number and I would call you . I received your E mail but when I try to return I am unable for some reason .. I think shipping is going to be to expensive to make it worthwhile ..
