Well I can tell you the H9 PA18 super cub has both right and down thrust built into the firewall, quite a bit of right thrust to say the least, but it seems to fly fine... sometimes if I punch the throttle on take off it will aggressively veer right, which is due to the amount of right thrust, but with normal takeoff throttle, she's straight down the runway with little correction needed.

I have not been able to fly since early July, had an accident and been on crutches with a leg brace ever since, did use my time to add shock struts from PR Bush wheels and paint the landing gear and wing struts to match the blue trim.

hi guys. im currently building the 1/4 pipercub with the zenoah 20cc. Where did u mount the ignition unit? if i do mount it on the firewall it will be very short distance to the cylinder. is that a prob regarding heat and so forth?? What prop do u recommand for the zenoah 20cc for best preformance?? thanks

ole.foll,
I have the G 26 with electronic ignition on my H-9 1/4 scale cub ARF. The ignition unit is a tight fit but it does fit off center low and behind the cylinder on the firewall. The engine sits out 1/2 inch on standoffs for proper prop shaft clearance. I have not had any problems with it. I also fly it on floats. Follow the instruction booklet for mounting. Mine is on a plate set out just far enough to get wire ties behind it to secure the unit.
Good luck, JB Stearman

Hi,
I don't think I'd attempt to use a 'standard' servo in this airplane due to the flying weight, and resultant control surface air loads. I have the PNP version of this Cub, and it came with 6 JR821 servos, which have served me well for about 6 years. These servos aren't that expensive (about $30 ea.), and I think they are well worth the 'peace of mind'....

OK, quick question. I just picked up the PnP version of this plane and it is really beautiful looking. Started putting it together and just some small issues. One, a small block of wood was in one of the wings. Called Horizon and it wasn't s black on the trailing edge of the wing by the flaps. Will glue it back hopefully without having to do damage to the covering. 2nd, I am 99% sure my rudder and elevator came pre-hinged on the control surface. While talking with HH, they said it shouldn't be pre-glued. Anyone else's on the PnP version come already glued?

Hi,
The control surfaces on my PNP cub were definitely pre-glued. On the other hand, after a year or so of flying I noticed that the rudder and one elevator half had started to come loose. After that I re-glued ALL of the control surfaces and haven't had any issues since. My advise would be to re-glue all the control surfaces now so that you never have any issues in the future. It can't hurt to apply more glue to a CA type hinge anyway!

Can someone please provide me with the length of the Hangar 9 wing struts from the wing clevis eye center to the fuse attachment clevis eye center? I have a 106" Ikon nWest kit and need struts for it. Was hoping that the Hangar 9 struts fit. Thank you in advance!
