money is no object for my babies, wait till you see the scale rivets! ive got to correct the hinge lines on the rudder as it isnt scale its an easy fix and the main gear doors will sequence like the real ones. Landing lights too! i figure ill have 3000.00 in this one and about 10,000 in the wingspan b-17. this is all i do no boats hunting 4 wheelers snowmobiles. here is a pic with the axi mounted . Everything is centered perfect!!! i would love to mount the esc inside the nacelle but it would get no cooling so ill mount it on the outside. it will be hidden by the cowl and dummy radial. i have to make a battey box for the lipos

i routed the power wires and the throttle wire thru the front so the nacells will fit prfect . ill have the nacelles installed friday . have to put the hinges in the doors. using jb weld

what would be the correct scale wheel size for this aircraft? i cant find the wheel size on the actual b-25. i looked at a few scale model and came up with a wheel ratio that would put the nose wheel size for a b-25 the size of the top flite b-25 closer to 2.5 inches...but i just went to glennis' page and saw that they sell a 2 3/4 for the nose wheel. i realize it isn't much difference but i want it to look close to scale. The nose wheel that came in my kit rubs on the strut on the retract.

I would like to put brakes on the mains. Robarts wheels with the brakes for 4" main wheels they are $61.10 ea., then add the cost of the brake kit which is $255.00 for a total cost of 377.20 is the correct price or am I looking at the wrong wheels. If anyone is putting brakes on the plane, what brakes are you using? What tire and rime are you going to use for the nose wheel then?

heres some pics. my son in law made a night jump last night and broke his leg (tibia) to keep it rc related he jumped out of a 1:1 scale c-17. he refused to te3ll anyone until my daughter MADE HIM GO TO SICK CALL NOW HES IN A CAST AND HES SO MAD CAUSE HE CANT DO ANYTHING BUT PAPERWORK FOR 6 WEEKS. he just got promoted to sgt today!

ya that wheel is scale. remeber glennis designed these for the robart gear for this plane TF should be ashamed for the foam wheels

You are looking at the correct wheels. The 10 spoke 4 inch al. wheels and brake hub. This is the correct kit. This is what I'm putting on mine should last forever. Should be available soon at Robart. For the noze wheels, the sullivan 2.75 inch wheel and you paint the hub silver. Way to go.

glennis has the correct scale set for under 300. I remeber everyone saying how the 310 needed brakes, it doesnt so id put the money in the glennins set. no i DONT WORK FOR THEM LOL

Timothy I beg to differ on your opinion that TF should be ashamed for the wheels they included. TF put this out as an arf. Some of us have decided to go a bit more scale- or way above a bit more scale. That's our choice. Just like the pilots. Just like the wooden lg door levers.... nothing to be ashamed of in my opinion..... They work.

for the price they could have given us at least some nice dubros. those foam wheels are cheap. Ya its a prefence, im not using door levers because the b-25 had closed rear doors on the ground so ill use a servo setup with a ems jomar sequencer.
the covering job is so good im doing scale rivets. Its the best designed arf ive seen so far but those are the same wheels the 310 has so ill have an extra pair. glennis or robart wheels are well worth the money because you can see the difference
I do not belong to AMA or a club never have competed and ive been flying 30 yrs. Have my own land and put asphalt in that is not cheap. I am considering buying a r22 heli and learning to fly it for personal teansportation. They are not cheap and im looking at used ones!

JB Weld Takes all day to cure but last a life time. I Fly a Piper Seminole and just installed a Garmin 530W this is the greatest for personal transportation. I love twins and that B-25 is my 3rd twin!!! the best so far.

I can't take pics right now but there are no problems with the install of Saito 82s'. You will mount your servo underneath and on the exterior of the framework but it is a nice fit. I haven't flown mine yet as the B25 has to take a back seat to a couple of rental houses I just purchased.

C550 Look on page 15 postings 351 to 356. will do with the Saito 82 installation. Good choice of engine. I Used H9 metal engine mount and drilled through the metal to install the front bolts to install engine. There is no problems to install those engines but unless you do like me(mount the cylinders @ 6 o'clock ) you must take the pattern supplied in the instruction manual and find the cednter on that pattern. You tghen rotate the engine mount you intend to use and draw the new holes pattern. You will need to sand off some wood from the nacelle wood frame +/- 1/16 to fit the mount since the wood frame is too tight to fit the offset needed for the engine mount. You do not have much choice but to install those Saito"s at 6 o'clock or 12 o'clock (safer install) look at the pictures.

For those that have their planes, how clear are your windows and canopies? Mine seem clear up close but if you hold them back at arms length they seem to have a haze to them. Just wondering. Overall I'm very impressed with the plane.

Thanks for the tips, I found the pictures and it looks like the valve covers do not stick out too far. I think I will mount them on their side and run the exaust out the side as the plans show. By the way what three blade props are you using on your .82's?

I'm using 12 x 8 3 blades Master Air Screw spins @ 9900rpm. For the cowl, the valve covers stick out only by 1/4 inch and you only need to open for each valve covers. further down in the thread there is more pic. You may have to butcher out a lot of cowl to mount like the plan shows and fit the dummy engine...think about the straight pipe option.

well I get stupid award of the thread! i bought opto77escs and axis right. Well i hooked it all up remembering to disable the bec by cutting the red wire in the throttle y harness. Well optos run thru fiber optics and need power from the rcx pack and lipos so i put a good y harness in and they work. optos have no bec. heres pics. now im working on the battery box so i can slide the lipos in will use 1/8 ply for this

Hey fellas! I just wanted to join in on the discussion of what just may be the nicest ARF yet released. I have really been inspired by this model and by the discussion and photos in this thread. I have long admired the B-25 and have had the Wing Mfg. version in my hanger for many years. It always draws attention at the field even though it doesn't even have flaps or clear canopies. For the last year it's been on the bench undergoing some overhual and then tada...TF comes out with this little gem. I have been having a ball assembling this plane and like most, don't have the time or some of the necessary skills and patience that a full blown scratch built aircraft requires. I guess my favorite part of this exercise is in the finishing...I do love the cockpit detailing and the weathering but not glueing sticks and twigs together...and all the sanding...yeesh!...I'll leave that to guys like Bruno(flyingchef). Everything has gone pretty much by the book...I have followed this thread and really appreciate the efforts of TF and Tim for keeping an eye on their little baby since it's release. Here's a few pics of the cockpit and nose detail...what fun!
