No, Warbirds NEVER make good trainers. That's why they make Trainers. IMHO.

Hey Guys,

I am just starting my TF B-25 build. I have been reading "some" of the pages but there is so much that it will take me some time.

Quick question: on the nacelles - I epoxied the plastic pins into it at 19mm but when I try and bolt the nacelle to the wing section I have a gap on one side of the nacelle between the wood and the wing.

Is this normal for setting up the thrust angle of the motors or is something wrong here? I "assumed" that the curvature of the nacelle should align with the wing so the wood on both sides of the nacelle should touch the wing.

I can put in a picture if that helps.

Thanks!!!

Keith

It's been a few years since I had the B25, but the nacelle fits all the way down to the wing. Maybe the alignment hole is not deep enough for the plastic pin, because your 19mm matches the 3/4 inches in the manual.

Good luck with your build. Mine was a good flying airplane with a couple of OS FS70s.

Hi Guys,
I managed to get a T.F. B-25 and I need all the glass for the kit. Does anyone have a set of plastic canopies for the airframe. I need them all...none on model.
Thanks,

Hay Morpower,
I like your handle...cool...I seem to never have enough power unless I am ripping the wings off in a vertical climb. Then...and only then...will I have enough power. Now I've done my best to over power all my ugly sticks....60 size with a DLE 20...she had a really nice climb. But my AMR Stick twin 50 I am building...with twin, twin cylinder 40 cc gas engines just might do the trick.

I checked with the web site you gave us, but no cigar on the Top Flight B-25 plastics. If you have a Hanger 9 B-25...they do carry all of them.

So guys...I need a set of plastic for my T.F. B-25. Some one out there in hobby land must have a spare set to sell me. I'll toss in my right arm and first born son....this is getting serious now.

I managed to find new set of B-25 cowls in Florida...nice guy, and for only $10.00 for both...I wanted to kiss the man... : ) That was a steal and they were brand new. I advertised on R/C Universe in the Twin for sale section....and also on R/C groups.

Soft Landings Always,
Bobby of Maui

Dear Chris923,
I'll take one nose interior kit, cockpit Windscreen and Nose windscreen and chin set.

How do I pay you for this...?
I sent you a PM on this with my phone number.

Do you have any guns or gun pods?

I can send you a personal check, Postal Money Order, or Bank Draft.

Soft Landings Always,
Bob Paris

It was out for about 7 years, I guess, it just ran it's course. It wasn't as "main stream" as a Corsair or a P -51. I just sold a "almost complete" kit on RCU for 400.00. It's possible they my revisit the B-25 with improvements in the future. I hope so anyway.

Gentleman..........
I have read many pages on the B25
I have come to the point of mounting the Canopy.
I remember seeing that someone made a nice framework for the canopy. This made it easy for access.
It was made of I believe balsa and the canopy attached to it. It was held down by magnets.
Does anyone recall seeing this
Thanks
Hoss

Hoss, I don't recall the post you are referring to but, I attach the cockpit canopy with small screws to make removal easier.

Thanks Bill
I am making mine electric. I need access to the inside if the canopy for the batteries.
I do remember seeing a canopy setup that was all built up w/ pilots that just fit into the canopy cavity.
It was held in by a threaded rod. I will keep searching....
Thanks again Bill

Hi guys
Here is an picture update on my rebuild..I think its turned out pretty good considering there is a lot of firsts for me.First time ive used fibre glass for covering which was deluxe materials products[there cloth and water base resin].First time ive sprayed painted with a gun and a first time painting with latex paint.I also re powered it with 2 os95fsv engines which im converting to spark ign..I also had to replace the retracts so i use another set of Eflite 120 size with the Robart oleos.
It been a fun rebuild with new skills gained..
I also have to give a big thanks to just plane sweet for going to the effort of making me a new nose glass [not fitted yet] it really turned out great..

cheers shayne
