I've order one from my LHS. Was hoping to have in Feb. Now delayed until March. Since I'm using a layway plan at the LSH I will have it payed for before delivery. Just have to decide on engine. Have a 72 FS and 46 two stroke available for the plane. It should be a floater and fly like a cub.

PA Ben - that's why they make other colors! I think that a little research and some time, the new Pawnee can be a really scale plane

PA Ben, that's what I'm talking about - recovering it. I like the color scheme on it, but a different color scheme might really look cool. I've downloaded a lot of pictures of the Pawnee to start working out on how to detail it out. I've seen a lot of good planes out there the could be copied pretty easily onto this model. Can't wait til mine gets to the LHS.

The pa-25 is one of my favorite pipers and it is cool to see an ARF in 40 size with counter balanced control surfaces and a scale cockpit.
I was disappointed in the trim scheme. I would have liked to see a more factory trim scheme forwarded of the cockpit. Also the dark blue stripe could be lost.
I like the color and the scheme from the cockpit back and the wings. It is more reminiscent of the “A†model 150hp not the 260hp “Dâ€
I hope horizon will bring out a ¼ scale Pa-25 like the Pa-18 they use to have.
I will probably be buying the 40 later this summer after some of the first run bugs get worked out.

This must be one of the best looking and scale ARF's around!! I can't wait to get my hands on one of those. A 1/4 scale version would be fantastic; I wonder if Hanger 9 has got any plans to bring out one in the future.

This one is just between 1/5 and 1/6 scale from my calculations. But at 80" is IMAA size. I can't wait until mine gets here. My 80 4S needs a new home. The color is pretty, but I will eventually receover to a new scheme to match a couple of glider tow pictures that I have.

From the dimensions and weight this sounds like a 60 size plane not a 40 size but the price is more in line with a 40 size. It will be interesting to see the quality. I wonder would a Zenoah G-20 be out of the question???

That's an interesting thought....a 108'' wingspan ARF! It's possible, the J-3 Cub is already 106''. The j-3 is an extremely popular plane. I wonder if the Pawnee would sell well considering some people consider them ugly. I think scale aspects would suffer considering they'd have to cut corners to make it an ARF. But, realistically, I don't think it will happen. I hope I'm proven wrong.....

I just got done pre-ordering mine. Since it won't arrive until march, I have plenty of time to think about what engine and servos I will use. It's a big airplane but they are calling for a .62-.82 4-stroke. With that big wing, an engine in that range should fly very scale. I'm thinking about a Saito .82. Another alternative might be the new OS .81 4-stroke. It's more expensive than the Saito but I would like to try one sometime.

RCguys already have made a 100" WS in yellow..... Out soon.....
I love this size though, low cost and great looking model......
When H9 came out with the Electric, I was like "aww, no bigger one?"
Well it is here now.....]
I love the looks of the aircraft!..... Looks like a plane with its wing up-side-DOWN!!!
I like the looks of the Auqua over the yellow..... DIf. color is always welcome on the flight line....

Hi gents,
This pawnee is a nice scale model for under 200 bucks. My brother will order this bute next month, he loves it. He just received the engine he will put on it, it's a Saito .60 twin cylinder. Engine runs great and sounds awesome. This model has lots of wing area, should fly like a trainer, especially being under 10 lbs.

The twin should be really cool. I just bought a Saito .82 for mine. I have all the engine and radio gear just waiting for an airframe to arrive. Hopefully it will ship withing the next couple of weeks. it's all to tempting to put the stuff in something else in the mean time.

Do you think this plane will be a better flyer than the GP Lancair, a friend offered me a 3 time flown lancair for $750 about the same $$$ as this plane with all the trimmings. Not sure which one would be better to have as a second plane.

The Pawnee should be a good steady plane like a Cub. The Lancair is a speedster as opposed to the Pawnee. I'm looking forward to really adding some things to it - not sure if I can make an operational sprayer, but I know that it would be a really good glider tug.

bassfisher,I have two OS91Surpass11 engines looking a home.Do you think this would be a good engine for this plane?? I really like this plane,my wife even thinks it looks good. Not trying to overpower the plane, but I need to get these engines back to flying. THANKS,RACJ

RACJ - I think a 91 would be great for this plane (maybe even a bit overpowered). Thats one reason our transmitters have that stick on the left side. I'm putting an idle .80 4S in mine, but if it isn't enough, I have a .91 in a Spitfire that can get a new home. The specs call for a .82 4S at the high end, but then again, one of my buddies is looking at a 120 in the front end of his when it comes in. I think that might be a lot too much.

Hi,
I think a .91 4 stroke would be perfect in this plane, especially if a smoker is installed. Hmm, I'm not to sure about the 1.20. From a .82 to a 1.20 is a huge jump in rc. It may do fine, would make this low-wing scale trainer hop off the runway. I hope the wing struts are just for looks, I think it would look better without the struts. Thats my opinion.

My LHS is saying that tomorrow, the 19th, is the release date for the plane so I'm hoping to have mine come Friday. Then I'll have to look for a pilot for it.

I just contacted Horizon, they told me that they will not arrive until the end of the month to fill backorders. Not here yet for consumers of dealers. So not sure what is up. I have seen Horizon announce releases and then delay after delay....
