You will love it when it arrives. Be patient, FEDEX will deliver.

Open the box, sit back and admire.

Then begin construction.

Any questions, send me a note and I will help you through.

Send me a PM and will give you direct contact if you like.

HOLY COW !!!!! This is one really nice looking plane. It is packaged with care and I don't see anything that I even have to run the iron over to smooth out the covering. Wow this is a really nice looking plane. I am thinking the pitts muffer is going to work out really nice with this plane. Keeping my fingers crossed. I am jumping into a whole new world for me in the model airplane world i.e., cowling, engine over 46, 3 line fuel tank, different muffler, and have to cut on the cowling [sm=spinnyeyes.gif] Oh well no better time than the present LOL... I have been doing this 2 years now it is time to upgrade me. LOL Keep the pictures coming please.

It's an excellent flying plane, too. We have anOS .65LA/12-6 in ours and it is plenty swift.

Does good acro. Outsides are lacking due to the semi-symmetrical airfoil. Snaops and spins are good. Does a pretty good upright flat spin. Does an absolutely great blender. Dive straight down at idle with full left aileron. Then both sticks full forward and together. It does 2 inverted snaps, then into a quick inverted flat spin. Recovers by releasing the controls.

It doesn't need flaps for landing, but you can use them. It rolls faster is you set your transmitter to use both controls for ailerons.

Ed, you have flown the full scale, haven't you? Is there any variant of the full scale that resembles the cylindrical cowl on the model? I'm curious about that and have not been able to turn up any corroborating information on it. [sm=confused.gif]

Click on the link and have alook at a yellow T-28 cowl. I spent a few years flying T-28 at Saufley Field. Great flying plane

The full scale 28 has a shorter nose than this model. I can see why in-order to get the engine in. A radial engine would be nice and you could shorten the nose accordingly. For a ARF this is close to the original. There have been other you build kits that are closer in scale than this one. I have included a photo from Photo Vault of the full sale for comparison.

The fuel tank is about 14 OZ and is not bad except for .... it uses plastic tubes and is set up for three line system. I like ot use a fueler so have melted/closed off the fill tube.

I have finished the tail feathers and have attached a couple of the install. I added a small piece of balsa under the back edge rather than try to change the nice finished edge of the vertical stab.

I have also installed the engine mount and it is so nice to be able to fit you hand in the fuse to hold the blind nut in place. See photo

Couple of more hours and she will be done. Have to install the nose gear, cut the cowl, install the rest of the radio gear and apply markings.

A friend built one of these. He removed 2" of the cowling and completely sheeted the top of the wings. Also, he added retracts, gear doors, lights and made the top hatch removeable. It really looks great now! It has a huge AXI motor.

OK, that one got me! I will go for it and see what I can do to shorten the cowl (and still use a glow engine). He did good on that one!

Looks like a good spot for my extra hayes 16oz tank. I do not like those tanks. I had 2 of them now and just don't care for them. I would consider replacing the plug with a dubro and brass lines. Just my own personal pref...might be fine like it is but I am finicky like that.

He is typically a scratch builder, I was quite surprised when he bought it. He does really good building!

I agree on the tank change over and will after I make the one flight with stock equipment. With all the room it is an easy change over. The tank neck fits into frame work and the rear is held in place by the former and rubber bands. Real a neat set up when you look at it closely. If going electric I would have shortened the cowl as well, to do it using "wet" fuel wold require the opening of the firewall and resetting the engine back in the recess. If I was going to do this much rebuild, then retracts would have to be added.

For the money and the overall quality, for the average flyer looking for a warbird to add to his hanger, built it as it is and fly the daylights out of it.

All is about complete, have to be away Monday so will add final and do a full review later this week. To dang out to fly here in NJ 100 plus heat index.

Staying cool

I haven't started on my build yet. I had a ton of things on my honey do list and I had to go to Home Depot to buy some clamps. I bought four of the quick grips today like in your pictures. They were on sale for $19. So I was happy about that. I will start on the build this week.

I called them today and they said it was shipped already. Funny I didn't get an email. I checked spammed mail and nada....oh well. Glad it went through anyway. Update asap.

I wish my bench wasn't so small. It only holds one project at a time (4x9).... Maybe once the tiny extra and the spacewalker are done this one will make it up there. I went out and wiped it off since last post.....hehe.

Hello JimO. Hey would like to ask you a favor and see if you could please post some pics of the fuel line set up. I want to make sure that I do it right. Oh yeah and I got a Dremel for Father's Day so it will be a whole lot easier to cut the cowl.

Happy Fathers Day everyone.
