Aresti Wing Bolt Plate
Okay, so I am almost done with my wing. The last thing is to glue on the wing bolt plate. The instructions say to mix up some epoxy and glue it on. Well the problem is the plate is flat and the wing is not because of the dihedral. I am wondering what everyone else did? I am tempted to score and fold it but I am afraid that may weaken it too much.

Hey Bob
Go ahead and cut the plate in half and then glue it on the wing. It is just to reinforce the balsa in that area ( keep head of bolt from pulling though). Be sure to remove the coving in that area first.
Hope this helps

Just put a little more epoxy on the ends. It is not that much more of a gap. This is the attachment poiint for the wing, so IMO it needs to be as strong as possible. In the event of a crash, it is easier to replace the fuse wing hold down plate than the traling edge. Do yourself a favor and epoxy some triangle stock under the hold down plate. From experience, not much hot glue there.
