hinge help
I've only had RTF in the past.
I need a little help here. I have a 4* I'm ready to install the ca hinges.
The hinges are rectangle shaped 1 X 3/4 inch with a slit running 3/4 of the 1 inch length in the center. Which way do I put them in?
They will go in both ways when I pulled the Aileron off per instructions they were in about 1/2 on each side.

RE: hinge help
Install the ca hinges as stated above. They should be about half in on each side. If you are installing ailerons shove the hinge half in the wing and half in the aileron. Put a pin in the slit as to space the aileron slightly ( small pin width ) away from the wing. Make sure you do this for all the hinges for that aileron. Then put a drop of thin ca glue in the slits. I put them in top and bottom but usually it's not neccesary.
If you have a problem centering hinge, just put in the one side and ca glue it in place then put in the other side and ca.
This is the method i always use and no problems yet.
hope this helps

RE: hinge help
amc72,
There is more than one way to install CA hinges and what has been stated is great. Here is the way I do it. I first lay out the hinge with a center line, I then use two "T" pins and run them half way through the hinge on the line close to the edge on both side. Next I install the control surface until it buts up to the "T" pins. Now the "T" pins can be pulled out. Deflect the control surface to get the max throw and then carefully add the CA drops to the hinges.
