Default Hangar 9 pulse xt 40 arfquestions...

Sup all...I just got a Pulse 40 and was woundering if a Satio FS 56 would fly this plane good enough? It sure is a pretty lil plane and I definitely want to put a 4 cycle on it..I have access to a brand new 56 that I could use, but Im also looking at the FS 82..Dont want to have to spend anymore money If I dont have too...Was Really just woundering if the 56 would be enough...

To my opinion a 56 four cycle is a bit on the low side it's less powerfull than a 46 two stroke,i think a 72-82 would fit better and have some power.

I disagree. Here is a video of a plane I reviewed a few years ago with an OS 52 4-stroke.

This plane has a 69" wingspan (Compared to the Pulse's 60" wingspan)

Believe me, this plane was NOT under powered:

Hey DirtHawg
The Saito 56'll be plenty of power. I have the EVO46 2st in mine and it'll do anything I want including just about unlimited vertical. The Saito 56 might be just a touch down on vertical but the airframe's so light and the design so good that I don't think it'll matter. I'm not a 3d flyer, but do an awful lot of sport-type aerobatice and it will do all of them.
You'll have a great time w/ the Pulse.
Good luck
Al

I loved this plane. If my at some point I might just have to pull the 46ax out of my venus and buy another Pulse XT 40. Wonderfull plane ot kick around with. Easy to fly.

OS 70 Surpass II - 4 Stroke....Unlimited vertical and just screams through the air. Sounds and looks awesome.

Even though the 56 will be plenty, I agree with hollywood. Mine has a os 70 surpass also, and it soars!

Hanger 9 says 5.5 - 6.25 lbs ready to fly.
With a 12x6 prop on the 56 you will get about 5.5 lbs of static thrust.
The Pulse XT is certainly capable of very slow flight so you won't feel like it is going to fall out of the air.
How well you think the 56 flies the plane ultimately depends on how much vertical makes you happy.
