Thinking about winter projects. The new H9 Taylorcraft looks great. I have a Saito 1.80 and a G23. Which would be the best engine for this plane.
Thank you.
Todd

RE: Horizon re-releasing the Taylorcraft!!
On this H9 Taylorcraft, the way the elevator servos are setup there's one servo per side with the servo control arms both facing inward. In order to make this setup work using a Y extension one of the servos has to be reversed. I can't figure out how to do this with my DX7.
Do any of you guys know how to do this?

If someone has the time, I'd like to find out the dimensions of the Box that the T-Craft comes in. I need to figure out whether I need to bring my trailer or will it fit in the car.
I think the original T-Craft box fit on the passenger side with the seat back lowered.
Thanks

GREAT!!!
It'll fit in the car.
Thanks!
Added note:
To those of you that find the main gear springs are stuck. Look to see if they have been painted after assembly. This will "weld" the telescoping connection tight. Do a little pulling and tugging on the joint before installing it on the plane and maybe even take it apart to remove as much paint as you can.
I have had several other planes that experienced this problem and it is usually easy to fix.

RE: Horizon re-releasing the Taylorcraft!!
Hi everyone.
I started on my Taylorcraft and have a question about the fuel tank. I'm going with the Zenoah and reading the manual it says to just change the fuel tube to gasoline compatible fuel tube. Is the tank stopper already gasoline compatible? It makes no mentioning. It only says to change the fuel tube. So I think it must be a gasoline compatible stopper already.

I didn't like the looks of the stopper that was supplied so I swopped out the stopper in the tank for a good Dubro Gas Conversion Stopper. For only $1.65 it's well worth the saftly precaustion. I run a three line tank and I used 3/32" ID Tygon fuel line and secured it with small zip ties.

For those of you choosing to use the Zenoah G-20. I ran some comparison tests this weekend with several props. Remember these are just comparisons, not absolute values.
Evolution 16-6 8300 RPM 47 MPH 12.8 lbs
APC 16-6 8700 RPM 49 MPH 14.9 lbs
APC 17-6 8000 RPM 46 MPH 16 lbs
APC 16-8 8000 RPM 60 MPH 12.6 lbs
APC 17-8 7500 RPM 59 MPH 14 lbs
Caveat Emptor!

Is this plane designed and outfitted for the G-20 or would a G-26 also fit easily? Based of the tach readings do you think the G-20 is a better choice than the G-26. Also, do you plan to use an after market improved ignition or the one supplied with the stock G-20? Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks for mentioning TNT I will check them out. Its my son's plane and he had lost the wing tube but has now found it but it's bent. So we can get the dimensions form the one he has.
