Default H-9 PT-19 struts

Is anyone using the Robart struts on this plane? Are they strictly cosmetic or do they help smooth out landings as well?I've been thinking about buying a set but thought I'd get some opinions before spending 85 bucks. Thanks
Steve

Default PT-19 Struts

The Robart struts do have a spring in them for absorbing shocks and it is functional. The main feature is they look MUCH better than the stock "wire" struts.

Default GP PT-19

The landing gear on the GP ARF are 3/16" - what are they in the H9 version? I'm also thinking of putting some Robart "RoboStruts" on her....

Default Struts

The struts make a huge diff in the plane performance. With the stock setup nosing over on landing is more of a problem.
Have one with struts and it is my favorite plane.

Default Struts

The factory landing gear wire is too small in diameter no matter what you do. I installed the Robart struts on my PT-19 using the factory wire (cut it off and slid on the struts) but I braced the struts from the rear with piano wire the same diameter as the scissors pivot pins. check out the struts that are available from Robart for the GP Ryan ST arf and you'll see a brace like the one I made.
