Anyone have any experience with this company in preticular this ARF? I'm looking to buy this type of model to replace my older H9 Cap 232 120.

LESSOR2,
I don't have that plane in particular but I did purchase the electric Fury form Texas RC Planes and it seems fine. They are not the top of the line planes but No worse than most other ARF you would buy. A couple other guys at our field have bought the Pattern style plane and they look good. I have flown the Fascination and it fly’s great.

[8D]I've done business with Texas RC and have had very good experience with them. One time the guy ran out the door to stop the UPS driver and get my order out the door a day earlier. Their shipping prices also seem less than some other suppliers of the same planes.

I was noticing that the Edge 540 has a slab horizontal stabilizer as opposed to a lifting one. Any thoughts on how that will effect performance?

Check out the 26cc Edge. It's basically the same size.

There are a lot of planes on the market that do not have an air foiled stab such as the Great Planes 1/4 RV4 GP/EP ARF 70", Sig Rascal 110, Funtana 125 ARF by Hangar 9, most stick planes, etc. Unless your flying a high dollar Pattern plane in compitition you won’t see any difference in the flight characteristics. We all like those nice clean lines on a plane but with that comes the higher price.

Thanks Guys,
Explaining the slab vs the lifting tail really helps. At the risk of asking a dumb question. The Texas RC plane's aileron are recessed into the wing. How do you seal the hinge joints with that design?

They are already sealed. Watch this guys build video. It shows how the hinge works.[link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7buFRc1ro0]pocket hinge[/link]

For those of us who have enjoyed Texas RCPlanes, Mr. Robert Conner is going into the hospital on Monday 10-5-09 to have a kidney removed . Let's all send him our prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Thanks,
Dave
