Irshaad - sorry, didn't see that it's not a DLE - it's a Syssa. Nice looking engine. I'm guessing its' very good quality, too, as it's quite a bit pricier than the DLE 30 ($429 vs $269).

S&S - yes, the SBach landed fine. Funny, the owner is not interested in doing 3D. His rudder has the plane # - "NO3D4ME".

But N numbers can only be six, not seven characters. Must not be scale.

If you'd like to make this cost comparison fair, consider what the DLE would cost with a similar exhaust system. Then, the DLE still would need more room inside the cowl because of it's side exhaust configuration (header clearance). The Syssa is much more compact, fits into smaller cowls without much hacking. I don't know why more engines aren't available with rear exhaust actually....

Right - add $80 or so to the DLE for rear exhaust. So $349 vs $429.

Guys don't forget to add $30 for a Single Bolt Prop Adapter = $379 condering that this engine comes with single prop assembly stock + 2 year worldwide warranty.
Well I think $429 is a fair price, a 60cc twin cylinder is coming this september

Ok, after 3394 posts you guys sold me on the Rev. 70.
So with all those vids and reports it's all your fault, least that is what I told the girl friend.

Not really though I just couldn't resist a good looking plane. So I dropped the hammer and ordered one from tower with the discount of $45.00 and free shipping special on now. I figure it a fair deal of course I ordered other extras to get up to that discount. donchakno !
ETA: About the 30th or the 1st. maybe. Cheeee hard to wait.

What do ya mean it's not here yet ?

Now for the engine.. am partial to Saitos, am thinking in the 120 / 150 size for now, but could go the DLE 20 for about the same $$ ! Guess it would be more realistic when it comes to fuel prices in the long run.

But what about a decent muffler for it. Maybe Jtech or do they even make one for it.
Any ideas would be welcome.

GSNut - Unless you like spending money on nitro and don't mind having to schlep to your LHS to buy it, I strongly recommend going with the DLE 20 gasser for your new Large Revolver (congrats, btw). Almost every time I bring my Revolvers to the field I get positive comments on their looks and flying performance. If you haven't already, you might want to read this entire thread for the many upgrades we Rev owners do as SOP. Also, there's another thread here on RC Universe about the DLE 20 -
"NEW DLE 20cc Gasser!" - LOTS of great information, especially the very first post in that thread.

Thanks for the heads up on the DLE 20

I lucked out and got one ordered with another disc. and free shipping at the same place.
Also it should arrive the same day as the Rev. 70, at least I am hoping so. They say they ship with the NGK CM6 Plug .... I sure hope so.

Thanks Microdon2

Now for the new eneloops and all things are GO !

GSNut - good for you. You'll find plenty of support here at RC Universe for both the DLE 20 and the Revolver. The Rev 70 is an excellent sport plane, but I would suggest you seriously consider the upgrades many of us have done - this plane does have some potential weaknesses (landing gear, CA hinges, etc) that you might want to address, depending on your field and flying style \ skills . Once upgrade, though, it's an awesome airplane.

btw - can you provide a link to that Duelist 260?

About 2005/2006 is when all this started.

Here is a video of Pete Kelly's Duellist 260 with twin sync.
The second link is part of the later information on the 260. A bunch of us got together here on the RCU and got permission from Dave Platt to blow up his Duellist 240 to a 260. We actually kitted a few.
It's a long story but most of the history is there in the sec. link.
There is about 25 or thirty of them still out there well minus 2 or three maybe. Pete Kelly, Mine and Bill Robisons. Bill was the moving force behind the whole effort. Also was the engine guru on the Saito Club till he passed. RIP Bill.,. If I remember right Bill had a home fire and lost all his stuff and died a short time afterward. Really a sad sad deal. He was a super standup guy.

Mine is still not done..Yet..duh No, No not an ARF.

There is more on the twin engine section way back a few years ago !

Sorry, didn't mean to hi jack the thread..

Carl,

Was that you on you tube... I saw that MKII Trainer come outa that Tower Box...?
I almost laughed, I swear I didn't though. How did the phone call go? Guess I know
they tried to get me to keep the .60 sized Mustang that they sent me.
Took em a couple of months to send the Paid return Label. There for a while I thought
they forgot I had it.

Thanks for the tiip on the compact muffler it sounds like it will fit behind and above? / below? the carb.
I believe I saw some where it was 1.25 inches at the tube that goes behind the engine cyl.
Wish I could use the larger one for less back pressure and noise though. Am planning on the Xoar 15 X 7 or 8 laminated prop for this one don't know just yet. When you are at Mile High it makes a difference.

Hope we get what we ordered this time...??

How fast would the smaller Revolver with a .46 be compared to the larger Revolver with a .61?

Guess I would have to say that I just don't know. As I have no experience with either.
Too many variables for my poor brain.

DonE - First I'd say that both the Rev 59 with a .46 and the Rev 70 with a .61 would be very underpowered, though at that level I'd suspect the Rev 59 \ .46 would be quicker. As we've discussed before, it's pretty clear that Great Planes' power recommendations are on the conservative side. I have an OS .61 2s in one Rev 59 and an OS .91 4s in another, and they're both quick. Have a DLE 20 (equivalent of a 1.20 2s) in one Rev 70 and it's also fast - might be faster than either Rev 59. Really depends on how much power you put in it.

I think you own a Rev 70, right? Are you considering getting a Rev 59, too?

Guys:
I am not sure if this is the correct forum or not. If it is not let me know. Do any of you want to purchase a 70" revolver with DLE-30 engine BNFand extra set of wings, extra tail feathersand pilot?

PM or e-mail me for details. I wanted to ask you guys here first before I posted it in the RCU classifieds. I hope I am not breaking any rules. If I am moderator let me know and I will delete this post.

Not true. They wouldn't be underpowered, they just wouldnt be super overpowered with unlimited vertical. I fly mine with a .61 two stroke and if propped correctly it holds its own.

I've got a R70 with a .61 in it and it flies just fine. It's certainly not gonna have unlimited vertical though it will climb in a knife edge. I've got a ST .45 in a trainer that I never fly. The Revolver 59" seems like a good home for it. Just curious what the speed would be like. My guess is it would be a tad quicker than the R70 with a .61 in it.

Let me amend my statement so as not to upset my Revolver brothers: In my opinion - Great Planes recommendations for the Revolvers are conservative and underpowered. For the way I like to fly. Which includes speed, reserve power, and good-to-unlimited vertical.
