RE: Larger Revolver
did he cut you a good deal? What motor is that?
Id throw some wheel pants on it. Just cause they look sweet. I bought a GP extra 300 and bought some wheels pants for it and swapped out the plastic spinner for a GP aluminum one. What a huge difference it looks. Little things that help get rid of the cheapy look.
you WILL love it.

[8D]I have the original wheel pants, he never installed them because he flies on a grass field. I will put them on.
The engine is a Saito 100. I got it for $400

RE: Larger Revolver
Cant go wrong there. And I would ditch the orange receiver too. I know some people say that those hobbyking Rx's are a great deal and work fine. However I feel that you get what you pay for. I saw a guy who actually went out and range tested them by placing them somewhere and them driving a way to see where his radio showed signal loss. I dont remember off the top of my head, but it was a significant difference from the other full range Rx (futaba or spectrum or something popular). If its been said once, its been said a thousand times, losing a nice plane aint worth saving 50 bucks on a Rx.

RE: Larger Revolver
three flights today on my Revolver, and three good landings, I have a Magnum four stroke .91, it seems to load a up a little on take off and climb out, is it possible the low end is too rich? After one circuit it smooths out and runs fine the rest of the time

RE: Larger Revolver
I dont own a FS, but my TT.61 loads up quick. even a taxi to the runway. Once i get it on the runway, I run it up to blow it out, then take off right after that.

In my new Revolver 70 I am putting an OS .95V FS. On the bench I am getting much more power out of the OS engine. Where the Magnum was giving me 9,100+ RPM max on an APC 14x6, the OS is giving me 10,100+ max on the same prop. Therefore I am expecting much more spirited performanced out of the second Revolver. When I get it up in the air I will be trying 14x7 and 15x6 props to see which I like best. One interesting thing is that without muffler, the OS engine weights .2 ounces less than the Magnum.

RE: Larger Revolver
So cool that we have Revolvers flying all over the world - Isreal, Brazil, Saudi Arabia (I think), now Malaysia, Canada, US. Awesome. Can world peace be far behind?? (of course, accidental rammings are fair game...)
Speaking of, a member of one of my clubs lost his Rev 59 two weeks ago. He told me that another member accidently hit him from behind. A mid-air. Now, in the auto insurance biz that would be 100% the fault of the rammer. But I don't think this guy offered any kind of damage payment. What are the thoughts out there on the proper RC etiquette for something like this?

RE: Larger Revolver
ooh, man. I dont know. I have never flow with anyone else in the air. being new, I wouldnt want that to happen. whether my fault or someone elses. I dont have the money to give to someone else if i flew into them. And i would kinda feel obligated if it was obviously my fault.

RE: Larger Revolver
I landed on my nephews plane last weekend. I called out 'landing' and his dad made he land immediately for some reason. I was landing from the right and he landed on the left. His foamy doesn't have wheels so it stayed where he landed. I didn't know that he had landed so didn't know his plane was in the runway. Plowed right into him. Tore his rudder off and damaged a wing tip. I offered to pay for a new wing since the rudder would easily glue back on. He declined the offer, which made me happy since he was in the wrong.

At one of the clubs I fly at we have been a lucky group because many times we will have five planes in the air at once and that can get quite hectic. One thing is for sure you learn to pay attention and then when you fly with one or two planes it feels like a walk in the park

RE: Larger Revolver
At our field 5 planes can fly at once and usually do, especially on the weekends. Mid airs happen occasionally and it is considered just one of those things. Its not like there is an air traffic controller available. Our main concern is that pilots fly the pattern, which is established by wind and take off direction, but some can only fly right hand patterns. On the weekends there is often no pattern. The big concern is flight line safety. Pilots must call out when landing, taking off or dead stick. Dead stick has runway priority and take off lowest priority.
We had a 50cc plane taxi into the side of a 40% Ultimate and the pilot paid for the $400 in damages. I don't think the fellow is wealthy, but obviously at fault and a real gentlemen for stepping up.

RE: Larger Revolver
Im not sure. I love the plane of course, but I can get a smokin deal on a Carl Goldberg Edge 540 with a 68" wingspan and Ive always wanted an Edge. Its Rx ready with a powerful electric set up (I love gassers but id like to see how the instant spool and insane torque performs). If I dont like the electric, I have the option of putting my DLE20 in it. Its also got all digital servos in it. It would be a duplication in that aircraft size. Which isnt a problem for me, but it causes a money issue for me. I still want to do the 30cc MX2 with a DLE30. So if I want the Edge 540 and the MX2, Im gonna have to sacrifice the Revolver.
But I may get the Edge and not like the way it flies, but I could easily sell it for what im paying for it. Then Id have the Rev and do the MX2 like I had originally planned.

RE: Larger Revolver
Yesterday I joined the brotherhood when I maidened my 70" revolver. I used an OS914/s with a 13/7 prop. I was only in the air for a few minutes but it was pure joy. The landing was a bit fast but ok. Found the muffler had come loose so called it a day. Can't wait to try it again.
