Hi Sloviper. What engine are you using? For the DLE 20 see my post #7290 -- one of the photos shows what I did and this works perfectly with an unobstructed straight run.

This is about as simple an install as you can get. Apologies to the person originally posting the pic. I didn't note your name! -Al

I just noticed the right wing doesnt line up with the fuselage completely. Is it only me again or is this a common thing

Hi Sloviper, I also had issues with the RH wing having a gap at the leading and trailing edge. I have noticed that its hard to carry out a good knife edge with the revolver as it requires a lot of opposite aileron has anyone else experienced this or is it just my technique.

I love messing around on knife edge. Revolver doesn't "lock in" once rolled onto it's side, but I've never flown anything that really did? I will say that if the CG isn't trimmed for a neutral/flat elevator, it's going to pull towards the canopy or the gear, but that's pretty normal in my experience as well?

Ive been reading about a lot about the lg issues and how to beef it up. Actually its the only thing left to do on mine besides the tail gear which i ordered from tower. I will mount a sullivan tail gear. Do the latest revolvers still have lg issues or have they finally fixed this?

Not fixed.Fixing the issue would admit that there IS an issue, and they haven't even gotten to that point yet...

Hi Superduke. I was flying yesterday with an IMAC pilot who commented that I was using a fair bit of opposite aileron in knife edge. I ran out of fuel, but will set up a mix next time. He commented that the Revolver should be easy to set up for pretty much hands off KE with rudder as master. Once that is set it looks like I will need a bit of up elevator mixed in as well.

I say it again every time -- this is a fantastic plane, and loving the DLE, just leaves a grin every time I take it out and never does it not get comments from someone.

How do you guys balances this plane?

I maked the wing at
5 1/2" and it needs alot of nose weight (added picture of the wing mark) . I move both my battery up front and it works out.

Alot of you guys have a battery in the tail. What is that for?

Here a couple of picture of my plane. I have a DLE-20.

Are you looking for the CG for your test flight? You can safely fly in back of the suggested CG once you get a couple of flights under your belt. How far back will depend on your skill level, and what you're expecting from the plane?

Yes, I would like the plane to be on the correct CG 5" 1/2. I really don't care to fly a tail heavy plane.
I have not flown the plane yet. CG is the only thing I have left to get the plane ready.

You do what you need to do to balance. Don't think too much about what others are doing in that respect. Makes no difference regarding YOUR plane? That said, with your elevator servos mounted mid ship like yours are, surprised your batteries need to be so far forward. Others building DLE 20 powered ships have chosen to move the elev. servos to the back, for CG purposes, as well as to keep the push rods as short as possible. Allows room to install pull-pull rudder as well. -Al

Starting at the recommended cg is good, but as most of us have found it to be nose heavy like this. I like cg at about 6.25". It is not tail heavy at 6.25". And it does fly nice and slow like that. It makes landings much better. At the recommended cg, it comes in real fast on landings.

With the DLE 20, and all the servos in the standard locations, I placed the life battery behind the elevator/rudder servo tray...

Just a note, looking at the throttle servo picture that Al posted, I noticed a metal rod being used. I know other guys have used them with no problems, but metal rods are not recommended this close to the ignition. I personally use Sullivan golden rods (nylon rods). They work great, are easy to set up, and won't act as an antenna that would send out noise from the ignition.

Just my thoughts on that set up...

That's regarding one of "those" old rules we needed to follow, prior to 2.4mhz? And then, the concern would be more valid if the engine end were going through a metal arm. With the pictured setup, with no metal to metal contact that might allow rattling, there's really nothing to set up RF. That's my understanding anyway. FWIW
