Default Aero Works at Tower Hobbies

I don't know if any one has seen this yet but Tower has Aero Works planes in stock with the DLE engines. Kind of interesting.

Did you notice the engine size class those planes are listed under? If TH is going to get into Giant Scale/Aerobatic 3D planes they will need to expand there size classes.
Very cool though. I have the 50cc Extra 260 "original red" and love it. Very nice planes!

Well, everyone is in a down economy right now but I doubt either one is hurting more than the other or anyone else. It's likely just one of those win-win deals for both parties. Tower gets another line of cool airplanes to appeal to even more customers and Aeroworks gets their stuff on one of the most popular online hobby suppliers.

That's the only problem. all the Aeroworks stuff is dropped shipped rather than being stocked and shipped directly from Tower. Aeroworks really packs their airplanes well with heavy double boxes with stiff masonite pieces to keep the boxes from being crushed. The result is heavy though and the shipping surcharge can be pretty high. Cool airplanes though.

Yeah but the price from Tower is discounted from what AW was asking.

BTW, if all the AeroWorks planes are the quality of the 60-90 Yak and Extra, it's a marriage made in heaven.

The quality is high, maybe the highest of any ARFs.

If you go to the AW website and check prices they are the same. If you notice not all the prices are discounted at TH, the discounted prices match the sale prices at AW . I did not get to far into it but it does look like you save about 10.00 shipping at TH , and you guys are correct, the discount codes do not apply.

Yes, Tower Hobbies is now selling Aeroworks product. Due to the overwhelming demand for the Aeroworks QB products we have decided to have Tower hobbies help us with this high demand. Aeroworks planes will be warehoused at our facility and we will drop ship product for Tower Hobbies customers. We currently drop ship product for many of our dealers and hobby retailers and it seems to be working out nicely for everyone.

Tower Hobbies pricing is the same as everyone’s pricing and will match the posted Aeroworks pricing on our web site. The reason you see the lower price on Tower’s site is because they are honoring the Aeroworks Holiday Sale pricing.

Visit the Aeroworks web site www.aero-works.net for complete Holiday Sale pricing.

I would like to thank everyone for their questions and comments and hope with Tower Hobbies now selling our product will help Aeroworks to better serve our customers and make our product more readily available for those customers that would like to purchase an Aeroworks product.

Happy Holidays

Aeroworks / President

Oh well. I guess we will all have to get used to paying what it's worth then. TH can be pretty demanding of it's vendors. They suspended the Sig line when Sig was having dificulty delivering on their orders. I would expect an increase of demand for Aeroworks planes now that they will become more visible to people who would have otherwise never heard of them.

AeroWorks is definitely Top-of-the-Line.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that OS just announced a new 55cc gasser?

Allot of people have commented on Tower not having enough of Giant Scale stuff. With the new OS, DLE, AW , on top of what they had, there now are some options @ Tower.

Definitely a good thing for both, as long as AW can keep up with the demand. This is some pretty serious exposure. Nice to see Tower with a selection of larger, high quality airplanes. They have some stuff but it's heavy and expensive. AW is a pretty good value considering what you get in quality and hardware.

It still sounds to me like it's a better idea to go through AW to buy a plane - why use a middle man?

That Stingray looks like a cool little plane.

The cheaper price from Tower would have been good enough for me. The difference is about what the shipping costs either way.

Even with the higher price, the two I've gotten from AW really are testimony that you do get what you pay for sometimes. My 2 AeroWorks have been better designs (lighter but with more than adequate strength), better hardware than seen yet, everything fits, and had more things done (the cowl is already fitted, just bolts on).

Hope they keep the partnership.

The .90-1.20 Edge would be the one for me. They have a really nice P 51 Mustang, but I'm not doing warbirds.

Gotcha. I thought the prices were the same. Would product support still come from Hobby Services?
