A bit late in the day, but we finally managed to get 2 decent flights and landings out of this 'bird'!
Here's the first, unfortunately we didn't trust trying to get the wheels up until after this flight...

Nice! I flew mine about 3 weeks ago - ASP 400 Radial and Lado retracts. All went well but I was concerned about the amount of flying time on the fuel tank. I had a 16 oz tank, but since I did not use the Air Retracts I have since piggy-backed a second 10 oz tank. What size tank did you use -- looked like you were up about 6 minutes.

Here are a few pictures of my UMS Evo 7-77 radial engine powered BH Corsair in action at our annual War Bird event this last Saturday. It is not as pretty anymore after the major damage done last year but at least it is back in the air.
Best wishes and good safe flying.

I would like to know who has success with the supplied retracts ? I'm debating if I should leave them in as any alternative will be very costly. I will change the valve and tubing to Robart tho. Thanks

If you are flying off a paved or other hard surfaced runway you might give it a go. If you are on a grass runway I would seriously consider replacing.
You will love this plane, it's one of the best flying Corsairs I ever owned, really bummed they are no longer in production, another one would be on order!

Finally "finished" my BH Corsair project, and got four flights on it. Flies GREAT. DLE 55 is PLENTY of power. I modified the airplane with: Robart retractable tailwheel, Dynam Bal Zirolli full cockpit kit w/"Pappy" Boyington figure, Top Flite Corsair dummy motor, LADO electric retracts (witch have performed flawlessly). The markings represent a Marine Corsair out of Okinawa, spring, 1945.

Back in 2011, I purchased this model. It was a great flyer, but the landing gear was rubbish. I eventually sold it on, but always wanted another one. Unfortunately production stopped.
I recently noticed production had restarted with a re-designed version 2.
I ordered one & it arrived last week. Very good build quality. Many changes to the design. Wings are plug in with two alum tubes. no separate belly pan, it is part of the fuz now. A nice cockpit & pilot is supplied.
The main difference is the landing gear. it looks much more robust. No plastic parts.
I am looking forward to the build. I am installing a Saito FG84R3 radial with Keleo exhaust. This will just fit inside the cowl.
Price was 649 Euros & delivery from Hobbyfly Germany to Cyprus was 71 Euros.
They & many others have them in stock.

I will take a few photos & post them.
All surfaces except rudder are factory hinged. The supplied fuel tank is around one liter. I threw away the factory tank bung & tube assembly & made up my own with brass tubing.
The rudder is hinged to the tail using a one piece alum rod. The rudder push pull cables are attached to the tail wheel & the rudder is attached to the tail wheel wire with two allen screws.
The tail plane is plug in like the wings & can be removed.by slackening two screws..
The gear doors are operated by a servo on each wing & the door bay will accept four inch wheels. I used ESM alum wheels as they look better than the supplied ones.
As I said, photos to follow.

Just started the build. here are some photos of my version 2 Corsair. Excuse the dust on everything. We have had a dust storm from the Sahara desert over the past couple of days.

Stab is removable. Just one screw to loosen.
Lots of dealers in Europe stock it. You may get a good deal on shipping from Hobbbyfly. I only paid 71 Euros to Cyprus.

I have installed the rudder with pull pull wire & elevators with servos.
I spent a whole day trial fitting the Saito FG84 radial. There is only about 3mm between the rocker covers & the cowl, so has to be exact. This was further complicated by allowing for right hand & down thrust.
I cannot fit the engine, until the exhaust arrives from Keleo in the USA. It is on its way & should be here later this week according to the tracking info.
Also waiting on other bits from the UK.
I will post some more photos when I fit the engine.

Some more photos. The head on photo of the engine is not quite head on & makes the engine look to one side, but it is perfect.
I had to remove the engine mounting box & make up a new mounting arrangement, in order to fit the Keleo exhaust ring,
The model balances perfectly, without any additional lead.
I used 2 x 2. 2amp Rx Lipos & 1 X 3.3 amp ignition Lipo. A Powerbox ignition spark switch will be fitted later today.
As the gear doors are servo operated, I fitted a Jet Tronic door sequencer & a double action electronic valve for the gear operation.
