Plane for rcgf 15cc
hey guys.. I just got one of these little rcgf 15cc gassers in a trade.. I really like the idea as I went all the giant scale gas and left behind 60 size glow. Now I can enjoy that too. However I know it is as powerful as a glow 60 and much heavier...Just don't have a clue what it will work on??? I used to own a GP rv-4 thought about that??

RE: Plane for rcgf 15cc
I have an old .60 size kit built Stick that I have retrieved from the attic. Going to recover and
refinish and put my RCGF 15CC on that. Should work fine. The last engine I had on the
Stick was an HP 61 Gold Head and it was more than plenty.

Hi there
Mine is fited in an ugly stick 1.85 meters wingspan , constructed by myself starting fron original Phil Kraft plans , but enlarged to 1,85 span . Flyes superb , big loops are possible keeping speed . Prop is a Bolly 13.5 x 8 . Engine is superb , good idles , transision and high speed. Aviation gas 30x1 . Starts by hand , first or second flip .

RE: Plane for rcgf 15cc
I would not fit that engine on anything smaller than a .60 size
Tht engine is nearly twice the weight of a 0.46 size engine and thats going to affectyour flight performance.
15cc is basically .90 size glow so I'd say it will fit nicely on a airframe designed for a .60 size 2S glow motor.
I would use the rule of thumb that a 2S gasser will replace a 4S methanol engine on 15% nitro. So a 0.60 size 2S airframe accepts a .90 size 4s

I've put the .15cc engine he is talking about into a couple of .46-.50 planes with no problems, other than I've run the ignition packs further to the back to offset the engine weight. The engines do not increase the wing loading that significantly.
With the .15cc I get unlimted verticals with a great climb rate on a .46-.50 plane... on a .60 stick not so much.
