Advice of pushrod exits

Hello all,
After cutting out the pushrod exits for the elevator and rudder, I was going to paint the balsa where the rod came out and then was told they make rod exit covers. I ordered them online and was looking at them tonight, and thought that they would just glue to the surface of the fuse and be done with it. These look like they have to be cut into the fuse balsa, but if I do that I would have to cut the tube that's glued to the fuse holding the pushrod sleeves. Are there any that glue onto the fuse without cutting into the wood. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Pat

Hi,

Maybe Dubro 502 (E) Lazer Rod Push Rod Exits can work?

RE: Advice of pushrod exits

I just called my LHS and also inquired after purchasing the pushrod exit covers, he stated that on the ARF you can't cut these in, it's cut before the outer tubes are installed. So I was initially going to paint the inside of the slot with matching fuse color, so I may have to stick with my initial plan. Are there any other tips that you modelers use to neating up the slot I had to cut to exit the pushrods (about 5/8") long.
Thanks again,
Pat

Hi!
Never uses the stuff!
Just cover the plane with plastic film (Oracover is best) and take up what ever holes you like.
Using internal set-up linkages is much neater (Pull-Pull , fishing steel vires) as in the blue trainer below, where I have fishing wires on the side rudder and a balsa pushrod to the elevator.
