What kind of covering is on this? Shelf paper? Or Monokote?

Well.... after failing to raise the antenna on my transmitter, I'm in the market for a new plane. I spied the Hobbico Sukhoi SU-31 and thought I'd come out and see what others had to say about it. The photos I see here and the remarks seem to support me getting it! I too have a Super Tigre G90 to put in it. But I don't have a pitts muffler, BLAST!.. guess I'm in the market for one of those too! :) Anyway, perhaps I'll place this order tonight!

Well.. I got it.. nice ARF! I wish it was covered in Monokote, but the covering on it isn't too bad. My issue is this. I have the Bisson Pitts muffler. It seems I won't be able to get the cowl on witout cutting it extensively, unless I cut the exhaust tubes by two thirds. Since I see where Flare has the same thing, how do you slide the cowl over the engine and muffler? I haven't cut anything, and don't want to until I know what's best. What's the secret!!!!! :)

Here's some of the crap that's going into mine which should be at my door around the 20th. I paid Tower $139.00 shipped. In the pic is a YS 91 with a SU31 shaped spinner, a Futaba high tourque mg servo for elevator, a Russky looking pilot and a 20 oz. Kavan tank that is made to withstand the pressure generated by YS motors.

I know that this is a very old thread,
but I may have an opportunity to buy a new-old stock Hobbico for a very decent price.

Should I pull the trigger on this one or should I look somewhere else?

Best,
kostas
