RE: *New Frenzy-100 ARF*
I like the longer fuse. More precision flying like a pattern plane. It has a nice price for what it is.

RE: *New Frenzy-100 ARF*
oh no i have to buy another plane. what 2 stroke is good for it, i know evolution 61
|
RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
I think it looks more like a Modeltech Formula 3D than a Twist. Didn't you have one a few years back Zippi?
|
RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
Looks more like their version of the U-Can-Do 3D to me.
|
RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
LordSirOb,
In fact, you may be correct on it looking like a Formula 3D and yes I did have one a while back with a Super Tigre 90 inverted. |

It definately doesn't look like a U Can Do because the canopy is not even with the leading edge of the wing.

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!!
What's with H9, they got an ugly plane contest going on? |
RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
so that's what you get when you breed a Twist with a UcanDo..
|
RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
Yes, its Homely (spelling?) that's why the pilot has a helmut... ;)

RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
Actually, I thought the Formula 3D flew like a dog - there is no way I'd waste any more $ on a 60-ish size fatty 3D-wannabe plane.
|
RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
I have to say its a cross breed of a twist and a showtime, (staying in the H9 family). I think I'm gonna wait and see what they say about flying it before I spend. What's Bill Brundle have to say about it?

RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
Has no one bought one of these yet??? I'm waiting to hear some feed back from someone before I get serious about one. I'm thinking an OS 120 4 stroke would be nice.

Not sure how this could be classified as a patteern like plane? Do you think it could compete with this qq model??:D
I had a Goldberg Extreme 540 Profile and that wasn't go for anything past 20mpH! It was a good funfly plane..... Not even close to a pattern! Perhaps they should have went with a more Inspire 60 wing profile? |
RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
These planes are being sold now. Anyone have one yet and what engine are you using.
|
RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
heard about balancing issued with this one. OS 160 should be just the ticket.

RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
its either throttle management or add dead weight, i know what i would choose.

RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
I was thinking a Saito 125 or an OS 120AX on the business end would be fine. I have an Aeroworks .90 to 1.20 Yak 54 that weighs 9-10 lbs and hovers with my OS 120AX and have seen video of the plane hover with a Saito 125 so both of these engines should be a good choice. I guess an OS 160 would work but seems like a lot of over kill for nothing. That's just my opinon, everyone has their own likes and dislikes. I would like to see a 160 mounted on the front of the Frenzy.
|
RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
Thats all i am saying is that it would be fun. Id just like to see how it would do. I know it is not the proper engine for the plane. Also i have never owned the most overpowered glow plane in my state so that would be nice also.

RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
Anyone build this out as an electric? Anyone considering this (besides me, LOL)?
|
RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
Anyone else built this? The only person I know of is a guy on another frenzy thread and with a ys 100 he claimed he needed another 16oz on the nose to get it to balance. That was where I got the idea for the OS 1.60. It certainly has the wing area to handle the extra weight. If anyone else has any knowledge on the balance of this plane please let me know.

RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
I did but with the evolution 1.00nx and a 16 x 4w apc prop it is at 4 1/2 ' on cg and 20oz on the nose to get it to balance im going to try to set it up on a pull pull and move the rudder servo it my work i dont know we will see i will call horizon product support today and see with comes of that anyone else try to set it up for pull pull and did it work at 4'in on the cg.
Thank you carljross |
RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
I was thinking of a Saito 125 but it weighs less than the YS 110 which is what I was also thinking about. Adding that much weight to the nose to meet the CG in the manual is not good. The power should be there but not the weight. I'm curious as to what Horizon has to say about the CG issue.

RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
What is the AUW after adding weight to balance?
|
RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
I called horizon product support today and the pull pull will not work to get the cg at 4'in. so how can i get it to balance and he told me that he will get back to me that he will email the R/D Department for a answes and get back to me on this one. I think horizon needs to come on the forum and step in and help on this one .
Thank you Carl Ross |

RE: *New H9 Frenzy-100 ARF*
I just picked one up at the LHS CHEAP!!! He normally doesn't do nitro stuff, but he got this on Horizon's quick ship program. So, I got it at almost cost!!!
Anyway... Mine's getting a 20cc gas engine. It's a converted John Deere XT105 Weedy. I'll post some pics later. The engine ready to fly should be around the 45oz mark Even though it's a small gasser... it should have enough poop to swing a 15" prop at 8000 rpm. And the extra weight sounds like it shouldn't hurt it. Oh... BTW... my kit came with the updated balance point as a update to the instructions. |
