Senior Telemaster conversion

Greetings. I am trying to convert a Senior Telemaster form nitro to electric and have very limited knowledge about the topic. It weighs 12 lbs, and I'm looking for someone to let me know what size power set up will work. (motor, battery, and esc). Thanks for any help

As a rule of thumb, you need 150-200 watts per pound of plane. The telemaster therefore needs upto 2400w. Although 2000 would be enough I reckon. You want a lowish kv motor rather than a screamer to switch a big prop. Try googling electric senior telemaster and you will see loads of em. Just copy a setup that works. No need to reinvent the wheel.

Check out the following RCU article that uses an AXI 4130/16 motor: http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/a...article_id=708

I have used the EFlite Power 160 twice with great success but it may be too powerful for your Telemaster.

Good luck! Electric planes are so cool in my opinion. They are clean, reliable, and powerful.
